Anyone had any experience of these > Chiptuning for Audi S3 2.0 TFSI – RaceChip Chiptuning

RaceChip Ultimate -
267 kW + 21%
363 HP + 21%
485 Nm + 28%

TUV certified. So cheaper and more BHP then the DTUK box.. maybe?

There is YouTube video about the company, it's in German, but looks like a professional outfit

maybe worth asking them for some dyno sheets to back up their website figures :)

The FSR system works back at £475.95, surely £30 is worth paying for a proven product and UK back up and support. Not to mention dyno feedback from members running our kits too?

Well now you guys tell me the vibe you have in mind for your cars i find it much more senseful. Non-res is perfect to terrorize the hood and have to admit it was very exilirating/adictve to do so with the decat sti. If I were you Geefunk, I would be looking into a good intake to get some darthvader sound to accompany that non-res crescendo :superman:

Might have to design one using an ITG filter. Guess it would sound mental then. I know some people think an S3 should go under the radar but I guess I'm just a little kid at heart.

Needs some decent stoppers too. All this is if I decide to keep it tho which isn't looking to promising at the mo.

saw some brand new 8-pot R8 calipers on pistonheads! I'm tempted, only if i was confident it didnt end up with another £2k needed for 19" Bimotos and farting on with brackets and discs etc!!!!

I have the Pipercross kit I picked up from Graeme. Not installed yet, as I am STILL WAITING for my Milltek DP!!!! Hear that Milltek???

Will let you know what it's like when installed.

Do you want me to have a word with someone at Milltek? Know them all pretty well now!

If you want man. I have no clue what's going on. All I keep getting told is it hasn't been made yet.

Last I heard from my tuner was that it was supposed to ship out by Friday (tomorrow for you guys I guess), but I don't know. It's been six week since I ordered it.

Does the S3 have the sound of the exhaust played through the speakers? Just thinking really as the scorpion exhaust even resonated is probably as loud as my decated non res system I had on my mk2 leon cupra and that thing was loud and would of had less sound proofing than the S3.

Im just wondering if it does I will try turn it off on vcds and see if that effects the noise in the cabin. Would love to run the non res system as the noise is epic but the boom in the cabin is ridiculous :(.

Can't wait to get mine fitted this week! Getting worried though as I'm getting the impression from you that the non-res might be a bit too loud, especially with the my regular motorway commutes

Ha see what you think I'm positive the sound is been pumped into the cabin by the speakers though. Just can't see how a resonated system in an audi with far better sound proofing is as loud as my Cupra was in the cabin.

Anyway see what you think I'm gonna post in the vcds thread to see if they can find anything.

Ha! It's usually us saying that! You probably have a much higher average wage than us though...

mmm I am not sure we get a better pay .... i know our base price of cars are one of the lowest in the EU. But we have about 40% BPM (goverment tax) + 21% BTW ( your VAT)

i also drive my (company) car private, that means that is need to pay 25% of the value of the car * income tax percentage (52%) =
€ 747 a month extra to the govement because i drive my compagny car in private, wich i bought myself also..... who is the thief now ??!!

i am surely no millionair, but have an addiction to nice things in life :) thats why i am foolish enough to pay this much for a car

like my purple friend said : money doesn't buy you happiness , but it will pay for the search ....

Sweet well I remember there been something along those lines. Think I need it turning off or set the exhaust to comfort in the individual settings.

like on my previous golf 6 R i am going to remove the soundaktor ... i will let the exhaust to the talking

Are you able to give some advice on how to use vcds to vary the output?

How to remove Soundaktor vis VCDS:

GOLFMK7 - VW GTI MKVII Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW Golf MKVII Forum - View Single Post - GOLF MK7 VCDS TWEAKS

To be honest, there's no point physically removing it or unplugging it, just run the car in Comfort mode, or in Individual Settings with Engine in Comfort.

And it's pretty sympathetic in the S3 8V anyway. Always makes me laugh the people that decide they don't like it, even before actually discovering it for themselves, and how you can control it through the MMI anyway.

I dont think you can find it with the same name or same place in S3. Tried to search for it to look at the volume it is set to.Seems this does not apply to S3:
A9 Struct. Borne SoundAdaptation 10
Select "Channel of structure borne sound actuator" (only one)
Std value 100% Change to the value you want, stored in %

Update: Sorry about that...its was there :) I was looking in to 09 instead of A9 :)

Update 2: Seems that it is set to 100 from beginning. And I also had an fault on it.
1 Fault Found:
0007 - Actuator for Structural Noise
P193B 00 [008] - Electrical Malfunction
Intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 4
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 20
Mileage: 7243 km
Date: 2014.06.13
Time: 13:50:58

Strange that it is set to 100%, does not sound like that. I would like it to be lounder, you can nearly notice that sound. If I open the windows then I can hear at least the sound from the exhaust. Nice in tunnels :p

DTUK,

Do you know why is the A3 8V 1.8 TSI hp and torque output so poor?

220 hp & 320 NM is just like the old 1.8t ...

APR got 245 hp & 290 lb/ft on the 1.8 TSI used on the new jetta, with no double injection.

Regards,

You can test it with VCDS. It sends a sine wave sweep through the device.
It's in Output Tests

@Jasso A tuning box is never gonna be able to match a proper remap, All the major tuners have been working on these remaps for like 12 months.

Oh ok.. so is normal. Here in Mexico, tuning boxes are not available nor used. Thought they were just like a remap.

And actually there's still no remap specifically designed for Audi A3 :( ... soon they say.

Thanks.

VWRacing have released there intake for the S3. £249+vat

Looks okay, price is decent aswell not gonna rush into anything just yet though, wait to see what other tuners come up with, a lot happening at the min.

APR saying there remap will be released in the next 30 days so the rest wont be far away :)

Hi there,

I´m a guy from Spain, who just bought a A3 sedan spine edition. I wonder if someone knows how or where buy the trunk lip spoiler of the S3 model, cause I would like to put it in my A3. Hope that you guys knows any place or any website that sell that product. Thanks anyway!!!!!!!

Oh this is exciting. I've got a Golf R on order now as well. On their FB claiming 360bhp from Milltek, Intake and Map on their R. Proper maps will see that figure between 380-400bhp IMO.

Anyone here comment on what I'm hearing about blown turbos while running tuning boxes on the S3 and MK7 GTI? I've heard it from a few people. Mainly flash tuners though haha.

From what I have been told, the first batch of S3s had a different turbo that has been revised on later builds as its internals couldn't cope with increased boost.

Basically, the AFR pre and post Shark tuning box is 14:1 (the same). The tuning box tells the ECU the boost is stock, even though it isn't, the turbo is put under excessive pressure, and kaboom.

With a 14:1 AFR, thats roughly 28 pounds of boost on stock internals. That's pretty damn high.

I'd love to hear something from Shark on this, as I'm ****ting bricks right now, and am planning on disconnecting the tuning box.

The turbo is an IHI unit, *loosely* based on an existing RHF4 Turbo (so read the compressor maps with caution).

I've not heard any suggestion of a turbo change between early cars, and later cars.

However, at least 2 members on this forum have had to have replacement turbos, but I don't think either of them had tuning boxes.

Also, I don't really understand that info re: 14:1 AFR.

Stoichiometric burn is 14.7:1, so you would expect this at cruise. However for max power/acceleration this decreases to approx 12.5:1 so it is never a constant ratio throughout the engine map. I think there is some jumbled up mis-information circulating t'internet.

Thanks for the info. Have a look at my dynos. First is pre, second is post, and you can see AFR @ 14:1 for both across the whole run.

That's incredulous ! It doesn't work like that in real life !

If you tried accelerating your car with an AFR of 14:1 throughout the whole rev range you would be severely disappointed ! :)
