Well had a service done last week and had one of my coil packs changed due to misfire and that sorted that problem out, now got a problem with a rough idle and a few judders when driving, what can cause this?

Get a fault scan done, could be a number of things.

It would be handy if you stated the engine fitted.

I've just put my diagnostics machine on to it and no codes are found and no lights are on the dashboard also

i have an A3 2.0 FSI

What was it scanned with? Anything other than VCDS may give inaccurate diagnosis.

I bought a machine seemed fairly reliable to read codes in the past, i shall get a garage to check it out also but for a code to be read doesn't a light have to be on the dashboard? i'm a bit naive on the car department sorry if i sound silly!

Just to add i have heard a few knocks in the engine area, could this be related to the flywheel?

I had that same problems couple of months ago. It the air block in pipe so you need to high rev on motorway with low gear example 70mph on 3rd gear then 4th gear on 80-90mph.. Make sure there no police around lol. BTW you will expect black smoke coming out of exhaust

Just an update on the matter,

I think i've worked out a possible problem, the problem has only started since i put in super unleaded i have been using normal unleaded for over a year and it's only done this rough idle/judder problem since putting super in, could it just be a simple case of my car doesn't run well with super?

Possibly. Or just a bad batch of fuel. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter and plugs?

fuel filter and plugs have been done within the last month, so it's making me thing it could be the fuel....

Its entirely possible mate. If it has just started happening since you put in the super. Which kinda sucks if it is the fuel as you will need to drive it out of her! A proper VCDS scan would be good though. Only other thing I can think on is the cam follower. Not too sure what would cause the knocks you are hearing, thats beyond my knowledge.

Had the car scanned and found an system air intake leak but i've had that since i've bought the car and hasn't caused me any problems and my mechanic can't find the source of the problem too!

for now i'll believe it's the fuel until it gets worse as tbh it wasn't so bad jut wasn't used to it juddering!

yeah i heard it could be the pcv valve, can anyone link me to a site that sells them for an Audi a3 2.0 FSI (2005)
