Thinking of a getting a Milltek non resonated cat back exhaust for my S3.

Just wanted to hear peoples opinions on them?

I want it have a bit more grunt, exhaust tone seems a little flat and quiet compared to my old standard 1.8T Golf.

Though I certainly don't want some embarrassing whine like a knobhead boy racer either!

I have the non res cat-back and it sounds nice from outside. It drones badly when decelerating between 3-4k revs. It doesn't drone when driving normally. I actually cant tell a difference when plodding along at 70mph to the standard system.

I have the resonated+sport-cat version and it is plenty loud for me (not looking for attention, it ain't a Subaru!).
The resonated one sounds OEM volume (maybe about 15% louder) about town, but a deeper burpbley noice, but when you hoof it, it screams.

Perfect for me, for what it is worth (i know you mentioned non-res)

I have the non res with sports cat and tbh I think it sounds lovely. No drone that I've noticed, slightly meatier at normal speeds and definitely louder when the peddle is floored.
Sounds nice on Stronic shifts as well

Same as Wuta3 I'm running a Milltek resonated and a sport cat and its loud when you want it and quiet too.
No drone on motorways etc.
If your only planning going catback then I'd say non resonated but if you plan on going turbo back I'd go resonated.

There are better out there. If it was me id go BCS turbo back. Heard too many stories of Millteks breaking etc.

I've got a non resonated cat back and when compared to my mates stock, the sound is so much better.

Personally don't notice and drone on the motorway either.

I was quoted this from BCS Nige:

We can offer the Sport system to the forum members at £1037
and the Poweralve system at £1185.75
Both prices are with the discount but subject to a £20.00 shipping charge.

In all fairness I'd still prefer a milltek so you don't have to be on boost in order to get the extra sound.

Haven't got any, it was just a quote.

Most people seem to go for the power valve though to keep it quiet when they want it to be.

The Sport system is the 'Out of the box' full time sports tone system - uniquely in 76mm with twin centre silencers - so no drone...

I have a turbo back sport system from BCS, Sounds nicer on boost the my mates with turbo back milltek non res and on a nice civil run no drone on the overrun of motorway cruising (which he has a lot of).....plus the down pipe broke twice on my mate even with the uprated torque mount.....BCS WTF on quality, performance and sound in my opinion, no contest

there are few millteks up for sale atm including mine:). Resonated is great no drone, decent sound and if you want it lounder then its just a matter of swapping one pipe that costs £100 to make int non-res.

Can you hear the dsg fart with just the non res cat back?

Are yours loud with the sport cat? In 2 minds atm whether to go cat back or turbo back

It depends on the throttle input, its more pronounced at mid throttle, but not really noticeable at low or higher rpm.
Mines non res without a remap

Recently asked for a quote and they've come back to me £1240 for powervalve S3 system, not sure how did you manage to get them so low with the price:).

If you PM him on here you get forum member discount

I would like a bcs system but its too far away. I have been quoted £1245 for a milltek turbo back and remap from amd essex. My car is stock atm so technically stage 2 for £200

They do deliver their systems..

I dont know but if you want a cheap milltek system look at rtec.com. If you choose cat and downpipe separate it comes to £830. They deliver too

Hmmm... Thats wierd maybe they applied 10% interest instead of the discount haha. Will see what they reply as I've ordered mine at the price stated above and have been assured it includes forum discount!

Which exhaust system are you getting as you are selling your milltek? :)

Thinking of powervalve system unless my missus decides otherwise! She wasnt impressed about the price but hell, so much stress recently and I need to threat myself for once this year! I even wanted to sell the car but convinced my missus that 3dr we'll be ok when the baby comes. Looks like my last decent upgrade before nappy bug bites I presume:)

Noob question... What's the difference between turbo back and cat back tho?

Ah turbo back it is then lol
Question is, do I go for the wrap first or the exhaust lol....
