Needing rear discs and pads and I'm wondering where is best to buy some decent ones. I was looking at pagid set on ECP? Also I can't find ones that have the pad wear indicators. Any help guys? Thanks

Hmm interesting. The ones I've seen online say 'excluding wear indicators' which suggests some rears come with them but I don't know. My rear pads are shot and my front discs and pads are like new so I doubt it's them that's causing my wear indicator light to come on. Faulty sensor?

Could be a bad connection between the wear sensor on the front brakes and the wire that joins it to the car maybe or the wire might have snapped. Both would give you the warning light even though there might be loads of wear left in pads.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. It'll be worth getting the connections checked when I get the rear disc and pads fitted then!

Put new Pagid discs & pads on my Avant last year when I got it, good quality items and no squeal. Got them from ECP on one of heir many discount days so not too expensive either.

Just about to order them and I noticed that there is two disc sizes (245 or 255) and different pad thicknesses (approx 2mm difference). Any idea what to order?

Probably 245mm if you need 245's I have a brand new set that i bought by accident instead of 255's.
£25+ postage.

Are they pagid ones? I'll check what size I need, if it's 245 I need I'll have them off you!

Yeah pagid. Got marks on as I fitted one before I noticed. Never used for braking though.

Take your wheel off and measure. Mine is running pagid all round, brakes are real sharp now, they were quite poor before.

Pagid sounds good to me then. I'll need to check my discs tomorrow as the weather is sh**e and it was dark before I finished work :(

What about front 312mm conversion? Am I correct in saying it's just sourcing some carriers from a 2.5 or 3.0 (and obviously 312mm discs) and nothing else needs changed?

Or 320mm? Came standard on my 2.5, stop quite nicely...

Yeh watch this,m as i got sent the wrong rears and they a massively different, new carriers for 320mm disc though, not sure bout the 312s though

Aye having done some reading a swap up to 320mm is a change of caliper from a 57mm piston to 60mm. The 288 & 312mm discs share the same caliper so it's just a change of caliper carrier. Bit too expensive I would imagine.

Yeah for the 312mm all you need iscarriers from a 2.5 or 3.0! Same calipers and pads! Finding the carriers is the hard bit!

Normally go for around £70 .

288 Vs 312

I seen that thread earlier. I'm assuming he's selling the full brake setup! All I'm looking to get in the future is carriers. Although it does look like a good deal..
