Hi all,

Thinking of trading my "13" plate A3 1.4 TFSI 122 S-Line (Daytona) for an S1 (Sepang). I quite like the idea of re-living my youth in a nippy hot hatch. The stats and quattro are really impressive. Insurance and running costs aren't a major issue as I'm 40+ now. The main concern I have is interior space in particular leg room. I'm 6'1 and have loads of room in the A3. Sat in an A1 S-Line today and had the seat right back. I very rarely carry passengers. Any thoughts ?

Ta !

PS : there's a new You Tube vid of a Sepang Blue S1 Sportback in a dealership abroad. Looks great !.

I think it will be a great car, the one thing I would say is these things are so refined they feel nothing like the cars of our youth.

The last car in my opinion that felt like a proper old school hot hatch was VW's Lupo GTi, the new ones are so 'over-engineered' and are better for it but just don't quite feel like the real deal.

That said it will be an astonishingly good little car, and will look amazing in Sepang. Pricey loaded with options though.

It you go on a1-forum.co.uk you will see that build weeks people are getting is latter part of this year now.

If you didn't get the initial allocation (two / three cars per dealership) then you might have a long wait. My dealership didn't even get allocated a demonstrator or customer build slots.

Great looking thing, it would be worth the wait.

I've got a S3 and my partner a A1, I had similar thoughts before buying the S3 but space, power and options ultimately steered me towards the S3.

I've driven the A1 on long journeys is ok but cramped in my opinion. No room to rest left leg, felt very close to instruments, etc. I'm only 5 11" so would be worse for you. Great car but IMO everyday use, too small for me.

It sounds like a good a decision mate,Most of the times important thing is to be good at making the right choice,If you are sure of buying An Audi which is tremendous at uses especially for the people who are having a small family because its more like an SUV Coupe and surely have a very impressive performance but yeah if your people strength is more then you should go for another model but make sure its an AUDI.

I've just ordered my S1 in sepang with super sports seats :) woohoo!!!!

Nice, S1's look sweet in sepang

The stealer had one in their showroom in sepang but it didn't have the spec i wanted so they went searching, at first they couldn't find anything close to what i wanted??? then i showed them one I'd already found online and it was ready to go now (but it had sat-nav and no Bose and i wanted Bose and no sat-nav) and off he went and magically a few minutes later he had found one with Bose and no sat-nav! haha how surprising!

dont get me wrong there are 2 options its missing but 'hopefully' i can change that. 1: Black front grill and vents in from bumper and 2: Quattro exterior styling pack (different rear spoiler)

Yer sure, black vents and bumper can be done with vinyl wrap / spray.

Quattro styling pack yes but will cost a fair but I can imagine, wheels, spoiler, lights, graphics are cheap mind !

Dont really want the shopping list Quattro sticker if im honest just the spoiler really

Won't be too bad, I quite like the Quattro pack as a whole

So theres been abit of a change with my car order/situation. let me explain, i ordered the car from stockport Audi on monday and they had to apply for a dealership trade as they didn't actually have the car they were selling to me it was at another dealership somewhere. i was assured they would contact me as soon as the swap had been authorised, i was happy with this thinking they would contact me tonight latest so i could collect the car on this friday sometime so i paid my deposit and left a happy customer. i decided to contact stockport Audi multiple times (1137hrs, 1409hrs, 1630hrs, 1802hrs & 1849hrs) today to try and speak to the salesman that had dealt with me on monday to no avail and on my last call to be told he had already gone home despite being asked to call me 4 times prior to this! grrrrrrrrr i was not best pleased!

Good job i had already been calling other dealerships/franchises about other S1's they have in stock ready to go, just incase Stockport couldn't fulfil their promise!

So i have now ordered a different sepang blue S1 from Stafford Audi with an even better spec than i was offered from stockport :) I now have the Quattro exterior & interior packages! happy days! :) cant wait to get it on friday! woohoo!!!!!

Stafford ain't bad to be fair, end up chatting to the guys there a lot lol

Tight on discount though being a big S / RS dealer, Crewe doubled their discount.

Well I'm hoping to get a good deal on a black grill when i pick mine up tomorrow :) got to try my luck

Sweet man, bet that's pricy. From memory ain't that like 5K for both Quattro packs. Nice drive down the M6 or A34 then

I have a yellow 3 door S1. I'm 6ft tall and with the seat in the right driving position my son, who is about an inch shorter than me, still manages to sit behind me in the back. There is enough space in the front, your left leg just rests against the centre console when not changing gears
