Hello people,

my S3 has now done 45000 miles and as I like to keep on top of things I was just wondering what people are using to de-coke the inlet valves on the TFSI engines..........as I'm aware terraclean is no good for the direct injection engine. So are you people doing it yourselfs? Looks a big job Or taking to a reputable garage........are there any in the North East of England offering this service?

Once ce again cheers in advance.

dan

I too am struggling to find someone local to me who could perform this proceedure.... and im in the southwest. Maybe we could do with a thread of garages around the UK by location so people can find one easily.

I'm down south so can't help with places local to you.

It's not a big job and not horribly expensive but is definitely worth doing if you've looked at my thread.

There are a few kits for DIY use but a professional job is best.

Easy solution, just spit peanut shells down the intake orifice while drunk, covered in grease and wearing various gaskets as ceremonial dress.

Or a voodoo dance, I hear a voodoo dance works well.

Have you tried getting a quote from a local BMW garage if you can't find an independant to take on the work?

Lol the reason for the suggestion is because BMW seem to offer this service in house at a decent price according to other forums...

I can suggest a garage in the Northwest but it depends how far you are willing to travel.

Awesome GTI mate, not far from you at all. They offer it for £179.

Interesting. Might ask my BMW dealer about this.
