Need to get the timing belt, tensioner and water pump changed on my 2.0L TDI. I have been told it needs doing as the car is 5 years old.

I got a quote from Audi for £555.00 is this about right?

Does the Audi garage offer fixed price servicing?

Local indy here charged £390 all in last year.

£550 all in is the price I was quoted by my local Audi dealer.

My local stealer quotes £440 for just the Cambelt kit on my 2.0T, I haven't been quoted yet on the water pump, but will call them this week and compare with a few Indy prices before making the final decision. It seems it'll be in the region of your quote though.

Get a quote from an independent and then take it to the dealership: there's a chance they'll match it.

Audi was £539 inc water pump on my S3, three local indys where £450, £485 & £360! All including genuine parts and the water pump….

Okay I've just had a talk with the local dealer & the nice lady quoted me £628 for Belt kit & Water pump! then she took my Reg number to double check & said my car doesn't have a belt, apparently it's chain driven! Win!!! ...I thought. Now I'd previously called Russell Automotive and they've quoted me £490 for belt kit (including tensioner) and water pump, which seems ...exploitative, considering I didn't know it was chain driven at the time.

I asked Audi service how much for just the Water Pump change & she quoted me £628 ...:wtf: ...she said it's because there was a special offer on for the Belt kit, but the Water pump alone didn't qualify for the discount! I told her I'd call back & hung up in shock.

I've yet to call Russells back for a new quote as it's all still sinking in.

Moral: book a belt change ...even if you don't have one. :uhm:

Just booked mine in for the belt/chain kit, water pump and Aux belt. All genuine Audi parts for £410 inc VAT. I don't think that's a bad price.

1.8t petrol by any chance ?

Make sure you get the tensioner changed - this is more important than the actual belt IMO.

Mine is being done today 2009 A3 2.0TDi, £435 inc VAT, thats for cambelt kit and waterpump, also having other work done at same time, failed aux water pump and clearing fault codes for extra but managed to haggle a good price since car will be in pieces to do cambelt.

£555 was my quoted price from West London Audi

I just had water pump and belt changed on my audi, got original parts from TPS in hayes for £108 (the water pump was exchange). This was much cheaper than even Eurocarparts and the main dealer and parts were genuine.

I just replaced my timing belt and water pump.
I bought the OE kit and a Hepu water pump with ~260 GBP
This is the kit I bought. The parts in the pictures are the old ones.

Just had mine done today. Timing belt kit, water pump, Aux belt, oil and filter, all genuine Audi parts for £420. I don't think that's bad.
