Hey all!!

My first post here so hey to all.

Thought I'd join a forum to log the progress of my new project :) and hopefully get advice and share tips along the way.

So ma current car is an MK1 TT but kids are getting to big for it so I bought an A4 B6 Sline non-runner for £400 (brb engine was shot - I've not looked but i'm sure there's lots of info about these on this forum. new engine fitted, new clutch and fly wheel, water pump cam belt etc all replaced.

got the car running so happy days lol, now I've started on the wheels, disc's, pads and wheels.

next is going to be exhaust, then engine tuning , then body kit & finally re-spray. will add pics as i go but below are a few of my current motor (it's had a respray and tidy up since the pic was taken though), the a4 in it's initial stage, with new engine & with new wheels.

any comments etc, I hope this is a nice site :)

cheers pal

thought it was a good way to draw attention to the new discs lol

whats the best sub-forum to start a thread like this?

Not my car, but we fitted B7 RS4 brakes to my housemate's red Votex kitted 3.0 V6 this weekend and they look too awesome not to share...

He had them sent away to be refurbed and powder coated in this slightly metallic gunmetal. Even with his 12mm spacers there's only around 1mm of clearance behind those 19" RS6 wheels. As to performance, funnily enough being lambo/R8 brakes on an A4 the stopping power is next to obscene! I think I've got seatbelt bruises from our extensive "testing" session, haha.

He's got the B6 S4 rears to go on the back, refurbed to match with drilled/grooved discs. If the original 8mm hex bolts weren't utterly shagged we'd have got those on too but he's gonna leave that ball-ache for a local garage to worry about.

He joined the forum a little while back but couldn't seem to post or create a new thread to show the build so far. If anyone has any idea why, or an admin could look into it I'm sure he'll be more than happy to post more photos (lol, no idea what his u/name was though?).

It will be at AITP this year along with mine so you'll be able to check it out in the flesh if you come along to that.

Been a while so I here's a few pictures from up on the Horseshoe Pass this evening.

Certainly not as picturesque as Greeny's location.... but with with a newly fitted Drivers door (Missus reversed in the side of the old one), and a fresh MOT, a wash and polish was in order. I think she scrubs up ok for 10 years and 151k miles. (Slight PS tweak to the ride height - just about the click the button on some Eibach Sportlines)

Love your S4 alloy wheels Ally. Are they 18's or 19's? If I ever replace my wheels it would be for a set of those.

8x18s mate. Been after a set for a little while now, smitten with them now they're on.

I've blacked out the inside of the lights this week, so thought I'd take a couple of photos.

Lights look fantastic! I'd love to black out my lights but I think it would be too much hassle haha. It's resealing them is where I'd f**k up

Looking much better with a slight nose down stance, than a nose in the air stance. Once the rear springs are in it should sit nice and level too.

It's made the front wheels fit much better too. The fronts always looked smaller than the rears because of the massive arch gap.

Wow, really tucked the front wheels under now hasn't it? So what's that, the B5 perches, H&R 35mm springs and new shocks? Were the shocks standard height or lowered/adjustable? I'd love to drop ours a touch but at the moment it's already scraping the Votex skirt every time we get on and off the drive so it looks like it's a no-go. Unless we move house...

Like for like Audi Sport shocks mate, just brand new. Then B5 perches, and H&R 35mm springs as you say.

I was dubious if the springs were going to lower it when I was building the shocks up as they stood taller than the standard sport springs when side by side, where as the Eibach springs I had on my Bora were shorter than the standard sports springs

just get yourself a set of S4 headlights, grey innards and factory xenons, remove the automatic levelling motors and fit your manual motors a slight re-wire of the plug so you can still use the manual levellers and Bobs your uncle, i used to use a set of joey'd headlights but much prefer the S4 ones.

^^^^ atlas grey all the way, I waited nearly 6 months for a mint a4 cab in atlas grey! So glad I waited, looks nice with the red roof!

Got any pics of them when they're turned off? I think the key to aftermarket DRL's is how discrete they are when off, and how close they are to an OE look - which makes it difficult on Audis 'cos they are all in the headlight cluster and difficult/expensive to copy!

Nah there out of the shop i work at. Only fitted them to see what it looks like still deciding if i like them. I had to modify the grill so i could get them as flush as possible and in line with the head lights

Looking better for being flush but I think if I were to do something like this I'd be finding some way to get them into the existing lights, or even setting them right back in the grill so they're not visible until turned on?

After purchasing my Nogaro Blue 2005 S4 4.2 about a month ago I've done quite a lot too her.

New matching tyres all round, front bumper removed and re-sprayed (Stone Chips) a full detail to all of the bodywork and interior, a clean up on the underside, so I thought I'd better get some pics while it looks this clean.

Run's beautifully with no engine rattles, so I plan a few modifications to keep it that way.

Hope this isn't too many pictures...... LOL

Took me about a week to detail it to this level, starting of with a full clay bar treatment, then a polish using Autoglym followed by a full Carnuba Wax....... Wheels have the odd bit of kerbing which I'll be sorting out very shortly followed by a nice exhaust system. Other than that I intend to keep it looking fairly original....... Unless a nice set of BBS CH 18'' wheels came up for sale.....LOL.

I don't ever think I've seen a cleaner car lol

how many hours in total did it take?

Took me about four hours each evening for a week. Well worth it and quite enjoyable. Concentrated on one panel at a time, clay bar, polish, wax and using ear buds to clean every crevice..... A bit OTT, but it's my new pride an joy.

I don't think there's a finer looking B6 than a standard Nogaro S4.
