Chez,How could I forget about Thunderbird!!! Was partial to some Elephant Beer back in the day as well.
Kids these days, with their nice tasting alcohol, we had to suffer to get drunk.

I really like the 5's I must admit, never really considered the 6's or 8's, but jacking the seats back and being comfy sounds good.
As I said I'll just have to keep looking, but I've got the itch now and REALLY want to scratch it.

Another downside to being on the large side is, when I'm out with the Mrs,
shes got a habbit of bringing over other tall people to see how we match up, and I thought they banned Freak shows.
Its a bad crack when your at festivals and it turns out that I'M the meeting point. Lol.

Sun's finally out here, had some hardcore showers today though.

Morning all,

Don't forget the constant questions from short people asking you to get things down from the top shelf for them.

Went out and removed the tracker yesterday and in the process I broke my softclose/auto boot function.
I guess I'm back down with the peasants in the boot compartment.
Rubbish.
Us 8 owners should not have to do such tasks as manually shutting or opening a boot lid.

I had to recently ask a tall woman to get an easter egg from the back of a shelf for me, how embarrassing!!

Oh and dont worry about the boot, at least you can reach it...lol.

Weekend is nearly here and the weather is looking on the up, they reckon it could hit 20 degrees by the end of the week...woohoo!! :)

How Football Sounds To People That Don't Care.


Firstly, imagine every time within a day that football is mentioned by someone else. Secondly, replace it with something that you don't want to hear about every day. Say... Archaeology. Then, think carefully about how an average day would pan out.

So, you awaken to the clock radio. It's 7AM. Just as you awaken, it's time for the news and archaeology already. Not news and other historical investigations, like library restorations or museum openings (unless there's another event happening), but just the news and archaelogy. Malaysian plane is still missing. Pistorius is still on trial. New dig announced in Giza. Ancient Mayan temple discovered. Exciting stuff.

Time for a bite to eat over the morning TV. More news. More archaeology. Yes, you are aware of what is up with the missing plane. Fine. Now the archaeology in video format. Video of people dusting off some skulls and bits of pottery. All well and good, but archaeology isn't your thing. It would be nice to hear about something else.

Even when it isn't archaeology season, the media follow noted archaeologists. They drive fast cars, date beautiful women, advertise fragrances, and sometimes they go to nightclubs and act in the worst possible way. Scandals erupt as the tabloids follow these new celebrities when they're not searching the past for answers. It is entirely possible you can recite the names of certain researchers, even if you don't pay attention to archaeology. You don't know what transfer season is, but you know that someone was transferred to a dig in Peru for a sum of money that could fund the London Underground for two whole days.

Out of the car at 8:55 and into work. What are the colleagues talking about, I wonder? Oh, Jones dropped a 3,890 year old pot and smashed it? What a useless ****er! Someone should do something unpleasant to him. And don't even ask about the unfortunate incident in Athens two years ago - you'll be there all day! Breaking a pillar like that! We don't talk about that here, mate. What? You don't want to discuss the finer points of the prevalence of phallic imagery in Pompeii? Is there something wrong with you?

The drive home from work. Every thirty minutes, no matter the station, someone mentions the archaeology. Best sit in silence. Drive past a huge billboard with a black and white picture of a rakishly handsome archaeologist draped over an impossibly beautiful woman. He's winking at you. Trowel in his left hand, supermodel in the right. Jurassic, by Calvin Klein.

And now the pub. A nice pub with a beer garden. Posters in the windows. LIVE EXCAVATION AT THE VALLEY OF THE KINGS! All of it on a huge TV with the volume up too loud. Drunken people yelling at the screen. "SEND IT FOR CARBON DATING, YOU USELESS ***K!" "WHAT ARE YOU ON, MATE? DUST THE ANCIENT MEDALLION GENTLY! SMELTING METHODS OF THE TIME PRODUCED VERY SOFT AND IMPURE METALS EASILY PRONE TO DISFIGURATION!" All this from two men out of a crowd of twenty. One lousy drunken idiot and his chum ruin the image of other archaeology fans. Carbon dating report from the lab updates on TV, read by a man employed because they've been following the beautiful science since they were a boy. The drunk chimes in again. "WHAT PHARAOH'S REIGN DID YOU SAY? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT THE UNDERPINNINGS OF OUR THEORY OF AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF 4TH BC EGYPT? GET IN, MATE!" A cheer cascades through the building and you can only wonder why.

Best go home and avoid anyone who might be drinking and singing. You once met a disagreeable chap who threatened to beat you up because you didn't watch the archaeology. "Not a late paleolithic era supporter are you? Think you're better than me? I'll have you, you scrawny tw*t!"

To bed. To repeat the cycle tomorrow. The inescapable, inevitability that wherever you go, someone, somewhere, is just dying to talk to you about the archaeology.

Weather seems to be picking up here as well, hasn't rained for at least 20 hrs. Woohoo.

My broadband signal is being an **** recently, will have to put up with Sky customer service to try and fix it,
The sooner we get Fibre optic the better, trust me to live in the boondocks!!

Scott, I'd rather live in the boondocks with slow internet than in the city with high speed internet.
Your garden and view makes up for ****e internet.

I also found out what is wrong with my boot.
The softclose motor stripped a tooth so it don't pull it in any more.

Anything that's less mind numbing that listening about 22 blokes running around a field kicking a bag of air would be more entertaining.

Weathers looking good, just been out to School with the little one for some ceremony and the sun was BLAZING down on us :)

Lets hope it lasts, to be honest I normally get good weather on my birthday and its next week, so heres hoping for the best!!

Bit off a trek for me though, I see some off you are camping.
Is there enough too do over the weekend???? I take it, it not just motors.
Will have to check out the photos when you guys get back.

My Mrs didn't want to wait until Sat for me to cut the grass, so she's out there now doing it. Result!!!

Inters is good.
Camping, BBQ food, drink and good company.
There's a lot on during the day.
You got the drag strip, show and shine, they had bike stunt show last year and control track or what ever its called.

LOL....well as it happens Scott, its literally only for scooting around in to keep up with the little one when he is out on his bike, otherwise I would have gone for a MTB, but I just wouldnt get the use out of it and im neither of the above. Ive always just loved BMX's for the fact that they are pretty flexible in use.

I love the old bmx's! A mint 80's bog standard Raleigh burner, what everyone had costs a bomb nowadays!
The new ones are just not the same!

Morning all!!

I actually recorded BMX Bandits on the Sky box as it was on a couple of months ago and just watched it last week, oh it brought back some memories!!

Its a GT Tour that I got, so not so old skool as I had hoped, I am thinking of changing the wheels on it though, have been looking at the Skyway Tuff 2s in Blue (The bike has a blue frame).

It was nice when I got it though as the little one was so excited that we can go out riding together now and his face when I pulled a wheelie on it ( I was like Superdad for all of 30 seconds) :)

The Burners were and always will be awesome, but as you say they are like £500+ nowadays!!

How was everyones weekend?

Mine was pretty awesome, its the International Dance Festival of Birmingham here at the mo, so popped into Town and saw plenty of breakdancing, which was cool, then went to TGIs and demolished a full rack of ribs and everything that came with it (even I was surprised), then yesterday was Tennis and Swimming and another mega meal!!

Overall, plenty of sun and smiles for us :)

Weather is meant to take a turn for the worst over here this week, so lets see how that pans out!! :(
