A question for those with a standard SE spec

I'm a bit confused about the standard air vent bezel. On most SE pics I've noticed the bezel is a black plastic (as you can see in the first pic). However in the brochure on the SE spec list it says 'Air vents in aluminium look' and the picture below shows the bezel in the silver (as you can see in the second pic). I didn't like the black plastic once I noticed it and I'm thinking of adding 'Aluminium interior elements', but I'm just so confused whether the air con bezel actually is going to be silver or black due to these two pics etc contradicting each other! I also didn't realise the SE spec parking break and hold assist buttons didn't have silver accents on them.

Can anyone just please confirm what their SE arrived with and when you actually got the car?

Thanks for the reply. I'm still a bit confused, I've specced the dual air con so the aluminium around the air con controls isn't the main issue, and from what I gather by that air con thread, I'm guessing the actual aluminium around the vent varies by country. I think I'm best ringing the dealer for a definite answer but from all the trouble I've had with them so far I doubt they can be trusted!

I found the best way to see the difference is to use the Audi configurator. Get to the interior elements option then have a look at the interior or dashboard views. When you click the option on/off you can clearly see the change.

Thanks for the reply... I found this the best way too, to actually see the difference, it was just the brochure making me doubt the configurator - I thought maybe they'd changed the standard spec but not changed the configurator preview?

Thanks a lot, that does help. Are you happy with how it looks? I just think on the pic I've attached it looks quite plasticy? Do you remember if the brochure you ordered it from stated 'air vents in aluminium look' with that same picture below?

You need to order the aluminium accents upgrade on the SE to have the alu trim.

The brochure is/has been wrong in many places, don't regard it as 100% correct.

S3 owners were promised brushed stainless steel footrests, S logo'd keys, none of which were delivered
It also stated that you couldn't lower the boot floor if you had Premium Sound as an option
It has an incorrect picture of the alu trim on the manual aircon
Etc.

I'll have to try and add the aluminium accents, I'm just not sure whether I'll be able to because I don't know what build week due to no order form yet. All I know it's due mid June.

Standard SE trim does have "painted silver" trim around the round air vents,noticed this when viewing an SE demonstrator.So all is not lost!
Although full aluminium trim (as per all other variants) comes with the alu upgrade.

Yes, I think it's like a thinner circle of silver within the black plastic vent surround isn't it? I've never actually seen it in real life. It's a shame Audi don't include such simple finishes on all models, I feel like I'm having to pay extra for things that you'd expect an Audi would just have in the first place. I probably should have gone for a Sport spec and just not had other extras I've specced, I don't even think I like the SE seats, but I've never actually seen them either!

Actually the "painted" aluminium air vents looks absolutely fine,your unlikeLy to really notice unless your in another A3 directly after your own.
The Aluminium accents package is only a £75 upgrade,and is money well spent imo,i really love these additional finishing touches.I have also specd Aluminium window trim among others on my SE.My last two A4s had sports seats,never used the extending bolsters,and find the SE seats slightly wider and just as comfortable and with enough adjustment for finding a comfy position,possibly slightly softer,but in a comfortable but firm way.
As with all cars now a days you must carefully check whats extra and what is standard.It is easy to get bogged down with specing extras,i always try to keep things fairly low key,remember you can live without them!!!!!

Yes definitely, if I can add it I will. I have specced the window trims. I think what made me think about these extras more is that I'm driving an A3 S Line loan car and I don't want to feel disappointed getting in my new car when it arrives. I was a bit concerned that the standard MMI might appear quite small also compared to the larger MMI in the one I'm driving now (I've never actually seen the standard display). What extras have you added to yours, and what colour, engine etc?
