Got my towbar half fitted yesterday (electrics still to be done as the plugs were broken!).
Now I think the car is screaming out for B5 perches due to the extra weight at the back! What do you guys think?!

Cool man, nice one. LED's on mine have been flickering lately so thought about replacing it. They're on ebay for as little as £12 but they're shipping from Hong Kong so i'm a bit wary - hard work finding a genuine used one without marks on it and the dealer wants just shy of £80. Cheers anyway :thumbsup:

Yeah they're definitely dwindling. Found a how-to showing the repair and resoldering of new LED's onto the board inside the switch but no way can I be ***** going through all that faff. Have to wait and find one in decent nick from ebay or breakers.

Lol, no no, thankfully the headlamp LED's are are still working ok. Just the illumination on the headlight switch flickers then goes out after a while (first world problems hey!?) Apparently the soldering on the circuit boards from production weren't too great to begin with so have a tendency to go a bit haywire Need to find a decent local breakers methinks..
Aftermarket switches work fine like the one I have. Just looks very slightly different. Just make sure you get the right part number, if you go for aftermarket or genuine, as they differ between some models!

Good shout Clarky, I'll make sure the p/no.s match up if I end up getting second hand. What are the differences you mention between the models?

Don't know the differences. Just as Wolf said above, he bought it for his car but sold it on to me as it was no use to him.

Next mods looking to be B5 spring perches, new or alloy refurb, spacers and pro springs. Thinking it may be worthwhile to change the shockers aswell?

Cool. I wasn't sure myself having very little mechanical knowledge. I didn't know if that's all that was needed!

Yeh always makes me a bit hesitant when they cant even be bothered but the right pic on the add!!

I think my car will suit them greatly! I have a 3 finger gap at the front compared to a 2 finger gap at the back so these will sort that out nicely!
You'll need to wait and see mate haha. They are genuine audi ones, but they are the only set I've ever seen haha. I wanted fat fives but they are well out my budget range!
Ooh, intrigued how! I love the fat 5 wheels. I nearly bought some, but went for s4 wheels instead. They need a refurb now before they get put back on this summer. The snow never arrived ha!

I was nearly for buying s4 wheels too but the sets I seen needed refurbed and/or tyres. I wanted a full set in good condition with good tyres!
