Interior lighting

Ok so today I've taken delivery of my new s3 to replace my 8 month old one now I'm really sure that all the interior lighting (cup holders, b&o speakers ect) was on all the time in the old one but the new one is only on when the headlights are on. Are they always on or am I imagining it? :/

Possibly unhelpful, but in my A1 Sport the BOSE speaker lights only come on when the dusk sensor kicks in. I take it you've already looked in the MMI to see if there was an always on option?

Just comes on when the headlights are on. If the headlights are on during the day its difficult to see if the B&O/cup holder leds are on or not.

That's good to know, both the misses and myself swore blind they were on all the time in the old car. I have looked through mmi but found nothing, only brightness.

And if you have the rain & light sensors the interior lights will only come on with the headlights if the latter are on due to the level of outside light. If the headlights are only on due to rain activating the wipers, then the interior lighting will be off.

Yep I've got the sensors on both cars which are both identical except new one has acc, connect and adaptive lights.

Now this is the interesting part.... I went back to the dealer and asked to check my old car and I was right, they are on all the time, even with headlights switched to off. That leaves the dealer stumped as well as me.

can someone please confirm what do you get in the interior light package? is there footwell lights both front and rear and puddle lights under the door?

Dimmable footwell lights in the front.
Puddle lights in underside of doors.
Red light in rear edge of door.
Illuminated cupholders.
Illuminated door handles (interior).
LED reading lights front and rear.
Illuminated vanity mirrors in sun visors.

No footwell lights in rear that I'm aware of. Not sure on other as mine's a 3 door so doesn't have rear doors to check.

Yes puddle lights on all doors, don't think there are rear footwell lights??

My a3 SB Sport with interior light pack has rear footwell lights.
