Audi A3 1.8T 1998 AGU Build !!!

When i was at my mates garage i thought i would get the car plugged into the snap on diagnostic machine and have the air bag light turned off which went all well then i asked him to run a engine management test which came up with something he had never seen in the 10 years he worked there lol.

MAXIMUM ENGINE SPEED EXCEEDED HA HA THATS R TECH POWER.

Thought i would lower the rear end aswell as i been meaning to do it for ages so thought now would be the perfect opportunity. We set the rear as low as it would go on the rear adjustable collars.

Can just see the nice new Poly Bump Stops

Haha, I had a good laugh when I had the same error code on my old A3.

first time I have read your build thread, love the car mate, something different looks wise.

shame about the bump, good to see its being fixed!

The car was then left in the spray booth overnight to allow time for the paint to dry. My friend then returned the next day to remove all the masking tape put the car back together and then polish it i do not have any photos of these steps. By the time i had returned to his work the car was basically all polished and put back together.

Car all sprayed up , polished and put back together :

Looking good mate! I was so happy after I'd had my old black one painted, breathes new life into the car.

Only thing in not keen on is the bonnet, just my 2p though.

Cheers mate yeah it does definately breathe life back into the car it looks like a new car again and the bonnet was just a quick fix for now i do eventually want to get a new one painted and put on with some sort of vents in as the car bonnet gets so hot from the manifold.

Cheers prawn yeah getting on with the work now mate nothing like what you have done to yours lol but getting there stating to looking a bit cleaner. Need to get back up to R tech after Christmas and see if they can get any more power out of it as it was blowing from the manifold when i first had it mapped. And cheers jay i think it looks a bit more aggressive now was a bit gutted when i crashed it and smashed the £300 Oettinger bumper up but i think this bumper has grown on me think i prefer it to the oettinger one now

Great read Chester999..the bit in the middle was sad, i was like "Oh no!"... but then it all worked out for a happy ending yeah.

Will.

Aint been on here for a few months due to work issues went out for a little cruise the other day so thought i would upload the video.

This is epic! My buddy has just bought a Mk4 Golf with a K04 running 266Bhp, and that thing is ****** rapid. Can imagine yours is the nuts! Good work :icon_thumright:

I quite like the way it sounds.

Is that the same exhaust I linked you to Chester? just with the different tailpipe? Amazed at how different it sounds to mine!

Yes prawn its still the same exhaust you linked me to mate with the different tailpipe and i have the relentless 3" down pipe and de cat on there. I liked the way it ended up sounding in the end bit different to everyone else cheers for letting me know about that mate was a right bargain

Got round to doing another little mod today fitted some Heko Wind Deflectors (not everyone's cuppa t lol).

Got round to buying some new rims for the Audi last week some 18" Black TT Wheels only really bought them for the tyres as i have been running the car on budgets since ive had it lol. The wheels come with 2 good continental compact 2 tyres with about 4.5mm - 5mm tread , 1 pirelli p zero rosso with about 5mm - 5.5mm tread and 1 continental compact 3 tyre with about 3mm - 3.5mm tread on so i will be changing the continental compact 3 tyre soon for another pirelli p zero rosso tyre so i will have all the same tread patterns on each axle with some half decent tread so i might actually get a bit more grip into the corners and whilst pulling away :yahoo: .

Can you remember how far off the outlet of the Relentless Downpipe was to mate with exhaust on a non Ko4'd original MK4 car?
Does it need and adapter pipe welding up or is it pretty close and they mate up.

Just wondering if I'm gonna need to dig the welding gear out.

Got round to fitting a couple of new parts the other day a set of new Lemforder ball joints and track rod ends as mine were looking pretty nackered and had seen better days lol :wtf: .
