I need to do this, but Brilliant (solid) black fills me with fear... I will buy a small machine polisher, gentle pads and a fine polish and wince!

I would run a mile from anyone quoting cheap figures like that...

polishing a car takes skill and time... and if you're doing other cars - insurance...

I just can't see how that's possible for that price.

I would think you'll get a very quick cut and lots of glaze to cover the rushed job.

Wasn't that hard actually I used 3M ultrafina polish and a polishing pad. Was better than using a g3 compound cause I've always been scared to burn the paint.

Looking really good mate, bet it's stunning in person and under direct sunlight!!

I spent HOURS on my lava grey A3 last week, I used the Sonus sfx-1 and sfx-3 combo and did it by hand. To be honest it didn't take as much of the swirls out as i'd hoped so i'll definitely consider getting a machine and teaching myself how to do a proper job. Although to be fair if I took my time and spread the job out over a few days I probably would have got better results...but with working 50 hours a week Aint nobody got time fo' dat!

DAS-6 pro is a good machine for not a lot of cash and you can really get amazing results with them and a good selection of compounds.

What this guy said, I went out and bought a DA polisher a few years back, no experience at all and gave it a go. You cannot go wrong with one, they're so easy to use and give great results, So long as you're constantly moving the machine and not putting your body weight into it you'll be fine!

Take it to the next step and wet sand your car to get rid of the orange peel. The paint is the best it has ever been and the reflections are insane!! And wet sanding is actually safer (although looks terrible at first) than picking up a rotary or machine polisher!

Get a DAS-6 Pro. You can't damage the paint with them. Dead easy to use as well.

19x8.5J et45 but with 3mm spacers on front to clear calipers.

Tyres are 225/35/19

It's just a angle grinder/polisher just a cheap thing with adjustable speed. Just bought the right polishing head for it

any time i do any spray work on a car i give it a full machine polish ,whats the point of doing half a job . Also puts a smile on the owners face as they dont expect it .

Yeah they really stand out.... Depends on the wheels imo what suits the car better the chrome or Black grills, its a hard 1... The chrome grill looks great on sprint and the optics dont suit it aswell as it does with other colours i.e white, red, orange... But still comes accross very well with both...

1 week and a camping trip later, my car doesnt look like that anymore haha... Need to do it all again this week for a big meet at the wkend
