Just got home. When I left I was sure the car was silver, now it's orange😳

I heard about the dust from the Sahara desert but didn't think it was this bad.

Well looks like it's a car washing weekend then.

Your car is looking immaculate!!! I miss the Sprint blue of my S3. 😪
I did plan on making a start on the car this week but the weather has put paid to that!

Ive bought some Collinite 476S to try out, if the reviews on CYC are anything to go by its got to be worth a go for £16!

Yeah I've read that, ill give it ago and post the results up, i need to do a clay first, I've got some auto finesse triple to try too, again the reviews sold it to me as i wanted something quick and easy like SRP, however people are saying this is miles better than SRP so we shall see! Wasn't sure whether to go for a sealant or wax though…

Is the likes of the Gtechnic range of sealants that go over the wax, any good? Do they take away any of the shine?

Its usually seal first then wax if I'm not mistaken…?

Dave is correct Gtechnic has to go bare on the paint so it can bond 100% it does not go on top of a Wax mate or under it really.

Gtechnic C1 then C2 every time as a top up if you wax over the top takes away all the benefits of the product. C1 will last 2 years anyway so no need to wax over it.

I don't use Gtechnic because i'm a sad and love trying all different wax's throughout the year LOL!!! :photo:

Some people use sealents or Wax, for me I love just love Wax must be from my Karate Kid days as a youth...................... WAX ON" WAX OFF" :salute:

HTH!

Cheers

Have a look on polished bliss at all of the different products mate, they have a tables for the specification of each one, however i don't think they stock g technic...

Does Gtechnic give anywhere as good a shine as a decent wax though?

It's a hard one mate as its really is all in the eye of the beholder, But I think its a more plastic looking with sharp edges and reflections if that makes sense lol!

Were I find wax's gives a more warm wet looking finish with a nice level of flake pop with great reflections

Gtechnic C5 for alloys is the finest I have ever used awesome stuff makes cleaning the alloys a joy!

Thanks for that. Just the kind or response I was after! I will just stick with my desirable though. I need to find out how to apply wax with my Das-6 pro. I've gorgeous sealant and glazes to use as well. I presume it's the glaze that goes on top of the wax?

No worries at all!

I have know doubt Desirable will look stunning!

Glazes go under wax mate not on top and you can use the das 6 with a finishing pad with no cut just swipe a clean finger and spread on the pad and away you go a little goes a long way.

But I prefer to use a applicator and do it by hand as I find its therapeutic but again thats just me lol!

No mate a glaze is a shine enhancing stage that goes on just after polishing before sealant and Wax!

HTH!

Well I managed to get it all done just as the rain started. The Desirable gives an amazing deep wet shine look. Like nothing I have ever used before! It really has to be seen to be believed. I will post up pics later.

It's all about the prep bud. You get the prep right, and most waxes will give a similar effect.

I've done all these steps before (apart from using Iron X) and never had an affect as good as this even with so called premium waxes!

Ewan, car looks stunning. Job well worth doing. :) x

Superb results there Ewan and Desirable punches alot higher than alot of more expensive waxes, and as its 50% cheaper than its AF counterpart its probably one of the best waxes for under £100.

I need to do some more research I think, haven't heard of half of the waxes mentioned here! I just got my A3 recently and started giving it a good scrub today, clay barred it, poorboys polish and nattys red paste. Looks great but I'm eager to try that angel wax desirable now....

+1 Angelwax Desirable from Brotek the best stuff on the market

I'm intrigued , have you tried the AF counterpart you refer to for comparison?

I was the same and did a lot of research. Detailing World forum is one of the best places for advice. A lot of the same waxes kept popping up for recommendations but desirable was the most recommended.
