I'm not a fan of the chrome surrounding the grills on the front of my B6 S4 so I decided to change it
Goolge'd some pics of wrapped grills in black, carbon etc and I liked the look of the black
At some point, i'll probably get it done professionally but for now, I thought I'd give this a go
So, rather than getting it wrapped, I went and bought some black 2" pvc insulation tape from Toolstation: £1.93

This is how it looked, some people like the chrome look, I'm not so keen
103
Removed the grill, top and bottom grill
104
Washed the chrome trim
106
Nice and clean
108
Started at the short edges first
109
Tape all round completed
110
Finished wrap and re-fitted trim, done the same for the bottom trim

Finished article, looks so much better (in my opinion!!) very happy with how the front end now looks

get some proper wrap it with the warm weather it will peal
it looks a lot lot better in black tho

I know, this was just a temp thing for now, plus didn't want to get it done proper and then not like it
Any idea how much to get them wrapped?? I don't have a heat gun to do it

hair dryer
if you was near sheffield id give you the wrap.
go on amazon measure the grills and but enough to do it
lay it over the full grill and use hair dryer very easy.
prob about a tenner for more than enough to do both.

I used 50mm electrical tape, it lasted two years and didn't peel or anything, amazing! I only peeled it off to plastidip it.

I also taped my grille surrounds, simple job, I didn't have any need for a hair dryer. Took it off after a couple of weeks though to spray it properly.

Audi sell black optic grills for the s4 - no wrapping needed at all...

And they are 350 quid! Tape works well for 2 quid. Plastidip for 15 is best bet, it really looks no different to the genuine ones which are matt black anyway

They aren't £350! Where did you buy them from. I got them from Leeds Audi in December last year - the Bonnet grill was ninety something and the lower centre was about £65

Looks really well! :) .. Might give this a go myself to see how I get on. Might even consider covering the window trim also!lol
