I have the normal S3 chrome mirrors which aren't the folding or heated or LED but I do want to buy the trick version, is there anything major that needs to be done to accept the swap?

How much are the both mirrors worth too?

As far as i'm aware, you need new door control modules... Or mirror modules, whatever they are and then it needs coded

That's correct you will need new door modules which will need re-wiring as wiring changed on facelift, but you could get round the need for new door modules and have the door mirrors fold on lock/unlock of the key fob which requires a custom loom and relay. Also you would have to tap into existing indicator supply to tap into the door mirror led indicator if you don't fit the door modules.

That's very interesting, I didn't know that and would be very useful as folding mirrors in and out on locking and unlocking is a pain in the ar*e. Is it a long job and expensive?

takes a couple of hours as each door needs the loom fitted, audi relay 361 is needed which is around £30 and few other bits, if you made the loom up and fitted yourself it isnt that expensive if you already have electric folding mirrors that is.

Thanks for the update.

I've got the folding mirrors but I'm completely crap at DIY so need to find someone to do the installation. I own a Range Rover which does the auto-fold in and out and it's a very convenient comfort feature. The number of times I've parked the Audi and forgotten to fold the mirrors in before leaving the car...!!

It takes longer than couple of hours to do the whole work including making the looms, door cards of etc etc.

We've fitted the oem systems countless times, its not cheap but gives peace of mind its all as per factory.

Blimey the price for the job is £1350! think ill leave that from them for now.

We do it for less than that, PM for a price for a proper factory fitment.

Hi Nigel- What would it roughly cost to add the auto-fold in/out function on locking/unlocking to a car with factory fitted folding mirrors please? Thanks
