Maybe it's just me but post activity seems to have dropped as people have steered to collect their motors and I guess are enjoying their new 8V's rather than posting?! Or am losing it? Lol

Only us 'die-hard' all year rounder's left. As I've already said - Quality not quantity.

I regularly checked the 8P Forum for 2.5 years after my initial purchase, but have been on the 8V for the past 6 months gathering info on new car which I have had for 12 days and will continue to check each day for further info as and when required.

I'm here but will possibly switch allegiances to another forum for a few months whilst I have my S3 garaged over the great British summer.

Wy are you not using the S3 during the summer?

Its always quiet after new registrations as the guys all want to enjoy their new cars and of course, keep them clean, lol. They will then hooefully come back and share with us all the little things that they have learned about their car, and this allows us to build up info for the faqs thread to share with future and present members in here. :) x

Can't see that changing either; always something new to learn

Yeah I think it was like the day after he collected lol!

Paul Lowther lives in the same town as me and I sent him a PM saying once he got his new car perhaps we could me so that I could have a look with him but I never heard another word.

I'm still here and have been for the past 11 years and still thoroughly enjoying the forum.

I was very surprised by paullowther's disappearance as he was a very prolific / enthusiastic poster in the run up to it being delivered. I remember he posted a few days after pick up that he was going to clean it, post some pics and then do a review.

He did a MH370 !!

I still maintain that he wrapped it round a tree and was too embarrassed to tell us ;)

He was 21 odd! So guess possibly he could have pranged it. I wouldn't have been confident driving an S3 at that age personally.

Hope he didn't though. The only other thing that could drag me away form my car / forum chat would be a women! Maybe he just got a new bird....

Maybe the new S3 helped him pull a stunner!

I'm with you, looking forward to that when I pick up on Monday, shortly followed by my last ever post on ASN ;)

The 8V A3 forum is a bit dull though, not many topics capture the imagination beyond creating arguments that are less about cars and more about clashing POVs.

I'd put the lack of content down to the car being so new. The really engaging car OC forums (somewhere like Mk5GolfGTI) are all about knowledge base and aftermarket, neither of which come until the vehicle model has become more established.

I think a lot of the inactivity is down to the loss of meaningful debate about the car and what it can do and banging on about trivia. (Suppose I am partly to blame rising to the bait). The better forums have separate sections for general trivia stuff like PP's and S/RS versions usually have separate sections. Not about being elitist just different interests.. not many buy S/RS versions worried about MPG and not many with SE variants will be interested in 'drug dealer' privacy glass. As for having a separate 184 section, where does it stop ? a 1.2 section, a 1.6 Tdi section....sorry wtf? Anyway this forum could be a whole lot better as discussed at an Audi bash the other day..so my challenge to the mods is remove the trivia to where it belongs and just because some ex mods are regular postees shouldn't mean you pander to them yet criticise others.

There are also some who are very aggressive!!

The above is meant to be objective and helpful, anyone else have a view??

Good post, totally agree. I do think the S3 stuff should have its own forum, you would then see a bit of through traffic from people with Golf Rs, TTS' and Leon Cupra Rs.
