So a lot of these have been sold recently. As mine is currently being fitted and haven't seen anyone posting results, I thought I would start a thread where people can do so.

I would love to know if these are worth the upgrade on an oem k04.
On your hybrid im sure its going to perform very well!
what power levels are you at dave?

Get over to the vw wanted and for sale page on facebook, seems there's one or two unhappy people.

Mines fine. 315bhp, much more throaty exhaust note! No doubt it would be bette if it was ported but being probably one of the first ever fitted - it's a good benchmark! I think people have been having problems fitting it with a relentless DP. That not the mani, it's the damn DP that's crap! I had to make a spacer as it used to rub on the prob before and now!

Why does so much go on over on facebook. Im not on it!!

Gops, that's a little unfair considering the downpipe is fine with Oem manifold. Our downpipe was not designed for the Badger 5 manifold.

I have been told the turbo location is slightly different with the B5 manifold. Without using our magic powers to see into the future how could we predict this???

Sam no offence but even with the std manifold it's been a problem for me! Not starting anything, just saying I've had problems before and after the b5 mani, not necessarily down to the manifold.

The fitment is as OE, so if the DP doesn't fit, its not the manifold fault. The turbo position allows all of the original mounts inc bottom bracket to still be used.

Ok our 100s of downpipes we sold are wrong. Back to the drawing board.
This is not the first we have heard of our downpipe having issues with the B5 manifold. But was fine on Oem.
I have been told the B5 manifold sits the turbo at a slightly different location. Remember on these cars, a few mm makes the difference.

This is not a dig at any product just defending our own. Have a good night all.

Dam 50 views not one reply. Has nobody fitted their manifold yet?

not fitted mine yet, will do later in the year. Looks like it should flow much better than stock looking at it beside a standard one.

Whats with all this downpipe rubbish?
It is public Knowledge there has been a problem with the b5 mani v1, its all over facebook ..apparently there is a v2 getting tested,,

Wasnt so hard was it??

Unhappy for what reason? Fitment, performance, quality? Would be interested to know, got a link?

The relentless DP has been known to to have consistancy issues, I guess fitment depends what end of the tolerance the specific DP is from. The turbo bolts in directly into the mounting bracket below, so i cannot see how that makes the turbo sit in a different location
Ok i admit i have probably only fitted/refitted about 20 or 30 DP's to various spec cars, and no 2 cars and fitments are the same.( different turbos, manifolds, tweaks to clear things etc)

It's fitment being discussed here, not here say and rumours.

Sam,

if your company were capable of making 2 downpipes that were actually the same, then perhaps people would listen to your thoughts.

as the quality control at relentless is about as realiable as a mid 90's french hatch back, we'll have to politely agree to disagree on this one.

My own personal relentless products have always fitted very well indeed. Those that I've fitted for other people have been horrendous at times. no two pieces are the same.

I have a relentless 3" DP and sports cat fitted to OEM manifold and cat back exhaust.

I did have an issue at one point with clearance after putting in new OEM engine mounts but tweaking the engine over to one side on the new mounts fixed this and its been fine for aprox 6 months now.

I will defo agree though that the fit on any car will be slightly different as with these 10+ year old cars each will be slightly unique and when trying to fit something as oversized as a 3" DP into a space designed for a much smaller item issues will arise.

So if the B5 mani is as the OEM manifold the relentless kit should fit the same if they are all made the same as mine of course

And this is only based on my car as I have not seen any other relentless products

I only mentioned the DP because one comment I read was an issue with the DP lining up. No dig at Sam so I don't know why he's gone In a huff. Everyone else has their opinions, I havnt had the best experience with fitment of the DP. Didn't say the DP was utterly useless because it isn't, the function worked better than OEM so there a plus side to it.

yea, sack off all this k04-23 **** all together and just get a tfsi blower for happiness

Gops you said the downpipe is just ****, now your saying it's not entirely useless. Make your mind up man, P's I'm not in a huff :)

I said crap as I was talking about the fitment of the thing! I'm not gonna lie when fitting it is crap when fitting it! I wasn't talking about the performance of it. Don't take it personally Sam, you know I have no beef with you :)

Bringing back on topic....

I love my B5 manifold :) so what's the issue on Facebook?

Still not got round to having mine dyno'd yet as there's always something else that needs doing.. But when I do I'll post up result.

Found the post on Facebook, really @&££/- me off to be honest... Don't know Bill personally but he always helps out on here, always gives to the community, spends god knows what time developing a reliable non cracking manifold for it to be slated after one test. Really just sticks 2 fingers up..

I've asked if Niki wants to use my car to test once WMI is fitted.. Just to gather more data.
