S3 ordered for September

Hi everyone. So I popped into my local audi dealer just to have a chat and walked out with a S3 in glacier white. Took it for a test drive and it put a massive smile on my face. Just gotta wait for that smile in September. It's a big difference from my 2013 1.8tfsi a5 coupe.

Welcome to the club Woody, nice choice lol, ordered mine last Monday given Build Week 26 so could probably have it end July but have already told dealer I will wait till September for new reg as am not in any rush.

Yeah I said the same when he said when do want it and I said I'll wait till September. Gives me a bit more time in my a5 as I only had that in September.
 
Welcome you will love it after an A 5 Fwd... Effortless, safe and very quick 2k miles now and still grinning everyday!

We're in the same boat (no confirmed build date yet), no idea when we will see our S3 sedan, if we're lucky we will take delivery in October or November.
 
I ordered mine on 01/04/2014 and have week 21 confirmed. So get my S3 early June. Amazed the dealers you guys are buying from haven't made the effort to spec-amend cars from the Production Plan to reduce the lead times for you - or may be they just can't be bothered or just don't know how to do it? New reg doesn't bother me as it means nothing these days.

When my dealer mentioned I could have it in August I said, blow it what's a few more weeks for the new plate.
But like you say if you want it as soon as, some people on here have either not been given a build slot yet
or have a ridiculous time to wait!
Ordering in April and getting it in June is pretty quick!

My dealer said he could try and get it earlier if I wanted but due to hols etc didnt see the point because would hardly get to use it, also quite happy with current car and seen as deal and price is guaranteed didnt see the point. Congratulations on your order and hope you enjoy the car when it arrives
 
The dealer asked me how soon do I want. I said I'll wait till September. That nice feeling of picking a new car up on the 1st
 
my dealer literally doesnt care about my sale.
I went into audi and wanted discount on the car, nothing was offered with me being shown an email stating zero discount available on the entire a3 range.
I used orange wheels to beat them down and they still wouldnt budge until i involved their corporate division. I ordered the car with super sports seats and the test drive car didnt have them. The replacement car did, so i rang to see about getting a drive in them, i was offered 10 mins max and the sakes guy, during the drive, told me he had little or no interest in the sale of my car as he was getting no commission on the sale as it had gone corporate.

I was raging and should have put in a complaint, some people should just not be in sales!!

I cant wait to get my new car but next time im buying an audi i will be going elsewhere.

I'm not bothered about new plate as got private anyway but from a resale point of view does it not pay to wait that little bit longer?
 
Sounds like you lot need to start a new '64 plate, 1st Sept' thread... We had fun in our 1st march thread!
 
Ordered mines on tuesday and waiting for the dealer to phone me and give me a build week… not in any rush at the moment however waiting till september may be a bit long lol! Also not bothered if its a 64 plate as my private plate will go on! Massive spec on mines
 
I never give it a thought that mine will have a private plate on too. Might drop an email to the dealer and tell them to see if it can be brought forward.
 
Mines is 4 digit so yeah it will certainly look the part. I want mines to be delivered for my 21st which is in August.
 
Ordered today - crystal panther black, debadged, body coloured wing mirrors (dealer was NOT impressed with that choice...) and went a little bit crazy on the options. Audi code AC8YUF18. Now have to wait. And wait. And wait.

Went to Audi macclesfield on the recommendation of some folks here despite living in London. Thanks, Dan was a star. Got a good price, very happy.

And wait.

And explain to my friends why I didnt buy the 2008 911 4s.

And wait.

AGHHHH.

Is it nearly here yet?

Why was he not impressed? Not a fan of the silver "S" mirrors or is it too much of a pain for the factory? Lol
 
I think his view was you should show off the car ;-p

Mmm. Not too late I guess. I thought it just started to look too aggressively drug dealery ;-p All black...

Might even go back to Monsoon Grey instead of the Panther black. Honestly, I really want a dealer that has:
Panther black, black pack
Panther black, no black pack
Monsoon grey, no black pack

But... nobody has any freaking stock. I had to travel just to test drive, and Im not convinced the configurator is really that great a guide.
 
I had to call multiple dealers for a test drive - seems they keep selling their demo cars...
 
I don't really understand why theyd tell you that... The website makes it an obvious fib too...
