It finally happened, after blowing up one engine and saying I'd never map again, today I went and had Revo stage 1 installed,

well happy with the results, car pulls nice and strong, I've missed it since running Audi's standard 'boring' map.

Has anybody added the b5 tip to the Revo stage 1, if so did you have any issues and was there a noticeable difference in power ?

my car is running boost 7 and timing 5.

cheers !!

Hahaha. Good man. Oem maps will one day all be gone and quite right to!!!
I havent got revo but im stage 1 and the b5 tip is awesome!!! Worth its weight in gold. It helps the car rev really freely and you dont get such a bad drop of power at the end of the revs. Id certainly recommend. V3 option for me!!

Definately noticeable power gain on my revo mate! Are you going for the full induction kit? I did and it sounds awesome!

I've already got the V2 in the garage, I've had the jetex too but sold that.

The plan was to keep the car standard but that's gone to the wall now which means the tip will go back on if it doesn't cause issues, I've read about surge, not sure what the truth is in this,

The dealer said I can take the car back once I've put the tip on to make sure the cars happy, the car goes well any way and don't want to cause un needed problems.

I know when on the standard map the B5 tip opened things up a bit and was showing 240bhp on the liquid gauge.

Does it feel any different to the Jabba map you had?

It feels completely different, the Jabba map I knew was on the car straight away, the Jabba map seemed to boost early on with a lot of low down torque where as the Revo I couldn't feel at all until I put my foot down, the Revo sort of drives like stock until you boot it and then you feel a wallop, it's nice.

I had the whole Badger5 setup on mine the V3 TIP, jetex cone filter and heatshield... made a massive difference even on my standard map.
When it was run on the rollers bearing in mind mine was a 210bhp AMK engine it managed 214bhp, with 124,000 miles on the clock. I think the induction had a big part to play in that as free flowing air :).

Now its been mapped at Badger5 it is even better...

You defo wont regret it ;)

linear revo map on it?

No I don't mean linear like the standard map, what I'm meant to mean is I couldn't tell initially that the revo map was on the car when I drove up the road until I toed it and the boost came in with a wallop,

The jabba map could be felt straight away through the pedal, where as the pedal feels the same with the revo map, poodling along in the revo feels the same as standard where as the jabba felt like it wanted to boost all the time !

It makes me wonder if it was that constant low down torque that eventually killed the last engine,

If that makes sense,

The revo certainly isn't linear like the stock map in its delivery.

I like the way Revo drives.

Yeah on standard map I had the v2 with heat shield and jetex and saw a 10bhp increase through the liquid gauge, definitely makes a difference even with stock map.

Revo do two types of map. Their usual and a linear version of it. If you find it smoother or later than jabba id say you have the revo linear. Revo is usually very puncy low down.

It's is punchy at 3k ish revs iirc,

The jabba map had loads of torque, I use to see over 320lb ft+ "Spike" settling to 300ish on the liquid gauge, and it was very early and constant, probably why my engine died.

The Revo feels quite lethal when it comes in 1st 2nd gear especially, it's nothing nothing then bang,

I really do think the jabba was very aggressive right through

Just been out for a spirited drive, I f@#king love this map !!

My buddy had a jabba map on his leon cupra for approx 2 weeks then a rod visited him through the block :)

I've heard this a couple of times now.

You may need to turn boost down if you add the tip. Revo maps don't support the additional flow very well iirc

Not a nice feeling when you realise there's a hole in your block,

That was my concern mate, the map was designed for a stock S3, I didn't want to just chuck the tip on and hope for the best.

I'll pop back to the dealers when I put the tip on, they said they would log the car to make sure knock etc were ok,

At the moment though I'm quite happy, so much nicer to drive again !!

I recommend using the SPS,if you had access to a dyno you can fine tune it,Bill helped me gain extra power by turning the boost down.

I bought one of these too, 3 settings, obviously the map I had loaded, a stock map and apparently a map that is ridiculously slow so that no body could thrash it if left with a garage etc, can lock the ecu too.

Don't know how much ill use it to be honest but I figured I may as we'll have one, can always sell it again on the bay.

I had an old Revo map on mine when I bought it, it was a pig to drive slowly. Boost built very aggressively low down and it felt like the throttle was too sensitive.

I had the map updated to the latest linear file and it made a huge difference, much smoother and more progressive, a lot easier to drive. I suspect that's what you have.

I fitted a 80mm tip to mine and did before and after logs, it gained around 7g/s, so around 9 bhp.
Also reduced the knock C/F and enabled the timing to be increased a little.

I think the bloke said it was revo file 4 which didn't mean a lot to me at the time, I guess you could be right, he said Revo do tend to have different maps, slightly fine tuning each time.

They do seem to update them every so often too. They seem to have got more aggressive on timing over the years, but I suppose that makes sense as fuel Ron has increased from 97, 98, 99 etc.

Logged a Leon with a Bam engine recently that had a 2005 Revo on max timing 9 with no timing correction at all.
