Air Pollution

Anyone experiencing this ?
Here in the Midlands last night a smell like weak ammonia was in the air and in the morning a strange smell also the haze,I wondered how the rest are faring.

Its never really been a problem in the Borders, not that many people to smog it up.
Used to get it bad when I lived in London, you could almost taste it sometimes. Not nice.

Not too bad in Manchester, kind of a low level cloud...

Will be good when it fecks off !

Something needs to be done about dirty diesels !

Used to get it bad when I lived in London, you could almost taste it sometimes. Not nice.

Whilst I think cars play a part in this, I just hope we don't end up carrying the brunt of the blame. Cars on British roads are newer, cleaner and more economical than they've ever been. Fuel sales are falling meaning we're doing less miles. Yet somehow the huge elephant in the room called 'industry' appears to get away largely Scott free of any bad press. When you see how companies like Coca Cola devastate water supplies in some countries (and they're just one key player), like with tax evasion they seem to get off largely scott free on environmental impact, it's only the major BP style feck ups that are expected to pay up.

Humans and their side effects, we're the cancer of the natural world (he says about to drive a 24mpg S5!)

Morning all

I mentioned the ammonia smell to the guys in the office here last week as I could smell it in the morning when I was leaving for work and they just looked at me as if I was mad!!

Personally I couldnt smell it last night or this morning, but then again it was tipping it down, so didnt fancy standing out in the rain trying to get a whiff...lol.

The skys do look a lot clearer here in Brum this morning, but it was noticeable over the past couple of days how misty/hazy it was out there.

I was actually surprised to see it as I thought it was the usual media hype.
