I have used Pagid pads in the past with good results.
Its OEM stuff and priced well.
If you want abit of a better pad, try going for Ferodo DS2500s - stay away from anything EBC (In my opinion)

I also wanted to ask if I could use the 312mm discs as a direct replacement. I think that the 1.8t have 288mm as standard but the calipers/carriers are the same as the 3.0 which has the 312mm?

if your car as the 288mm discs the 312mm discs will not fit inside that carrier the caliper is the same but the carrier is different i got my carriers from a 3.0 petrol . i kept the the original calipers

Pagid have always seemed to have the best longevity/quality. Eicher were rubbish imho, dusty, squealy, didn't last long and when you need them to they didn't bite the disc as reassuringly as pagid.

Which pads is it I need for my car 2004 1.9tdi A4 Avant? I've looked on ECP and there are a few choices, some for Lucas system, and some for Teves system.
On the product specification on eurocarparts you should see a "PR Number" and then take this code and refer to your service book. You will find on the front page a sticker which has all these PR numbers. It also lists your paint code/interior code/engine code/gearbox code.
If I can recall yours "should" be 1LB or 1LT so basically just quickly skim through it to see if you have that code there and then you got yourself the correct pads.

Cheers for that I'll have a look now. Tbh the pads on there now have only been on a few months, but I would rather fit new ones with the new 312mm discs, and callipers.

1LB is the correct code for mine, but I'm gutted as their sale must have ended at midnight, I thought it ended tonight. They're now a tenner more than they were yesterday when I looked.
I've not generally owned cars for long enough to warrant new pads or discs but I did once buy one yellow stuff pads for the front of my e36 three series and they were great, excellent bite and next to no dust, which was the main thing I wanted to gain over standard pads at the time!
On a separate note I got around to bleeding my brakes today, I used a pressure bleeder and took each wheel, completely off individually so I could see what I was doing. To my relief it went well and the pedal feels a bit firmer too.

EBC Yellowstuff is a dusty pad along with Ferodo DS2500 , I've had them both on another car and they state on their website as high dust.
Their lowest dust pad and what I have front and rear on my Passat B5.5 with the larger 312 mm ATE caliper carriers and 312 mm front discs is Redstuff, low dust that seems Teflon coated as it doesn't stick, it's an easy clean, great breaking performance too.
I would say its the same pads as mine, same pad as 288 mm too so Yellowstuff don't have wear indicators and Redstuff do.

I ordered the Pagid's from ECP as then I have matching discs and pads. They only worked out at £29 with the 30% off.
Don't mean to drag this up but it didn't seem worth starting a new thread to ask the same questions.
My brake limit light came on today so I'm looking to get a set of front pads soon (MOT tester advised fronts were fairly worn at last test anyway so didn't come as a surprise). I have a Euro Car Parts not far from me and also have a motor factors that I use regularly, each will want to sell me different things. ECP will be pushing Pagid, the other is trying to convince me to go with EBC Ultimax pads.
Question is, which do I go for? I read somewhere to stay away from EBC as they eat discs or something. Other sources say stay away from Pagid as they squeal horrendously. Having never required brake pads on any of my own cars, I don't have a favourite brand to go to. I've put EBC Ultimax in my mum's car and I think Apec in an MR2 my brother and I used to share. Never done an Audi though so those applications might be irrelevant.
Any thoughts?

I don't doubt DS2500 work around a track, but for the road they are dusty as ....
For road use I rate EBC Redstuff , previous formulations have been shocking.
Incredibly low dust that easily washes off unlike oe that likes to stain and stick around.

I did front and rear Pagid discs with Redstuff all round early last July , there is no lip on the discs whatsoever.
What make discs did you have Al ?
Depends on the carbon content, people have found Mintex discs and pads not to be what they once were and EBC's own discs are made of chocolate as so many reports of warping.

To be honest I cant remember - it was about 6 years ago on my Fiesta ZS (Mondeo 300mm brake conversion) - not exactly a heavy car, but the redstuff killed the discs before the pads were worn!
