Fitting a k03s on an AGU engine

Hi Guys,

I've recently fitted a front mount intercooler on my Audi A3 AGU and I'm loving it. Next will be a new turbo intake pipe which I have on the way. After that I will be wanting to remove the k03 turbo and adding a k03s. I have a few questions with this

1. There seem to be a few different k03s turbos. I am a total noob with turbos and I'm wondering if this will fit as it seems very cheap 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 K03S Turbo Charger VW Golf JETTA1 8T MK4 Audi TT | eBay

2. Will I need new injectors? Or should I just give them a really good clean? I've read conflicting information on this

3. Instead of buying the turbo on ebay I could go to the wreckers and find a car with a k03s being wrecked. If I do this what should I look for? What cars have a k03s that will fit and be a direct bolt on to my A3 AGU?

The ebay link is a cheap chinese copy, I'd avoid that mate.

The ko3s you're looking for is a ko3-052, 053, or 058, all are essentially the same. they will come fitted to AUM and AUQ engines mainly. these are fitted to y2000 onwards(Typically) mk4 golf GTI's, leon cupras, octavia VRS, 180bhp TT's, facelift A3's, and a few others.

On a ko3S AGU, unless you're really pushing it to the absolute limit, the stock injectors will cope fine at around 230bhp satage 2 level.

People HAVE pushed the turbos further, with uprated actuators, and used a VR6 MAF and Saab injectors, but for the effort involved, you'd be better off going down the k04 route at that point.

All ko3S will be a direct bolt on fit to your car, you need the silicon TIP, or a ko3S TIP, and new crush washers for the oil and water lines, as well as an oil drain gasket and turbo / downpipe gaskets.

Thanks for the reply mate. I will avoid the ebay turbo then. I will try find a low km car being wrecked that I can get the turbo off. Thanks for naming all the cars with the k03s! I wont be pushing it further than 230bhp and I have no intention of getting a new actuator so I should be safe with the injectors then.

If I have a silicon TIP will I need new crush washers? Also if I go to the wreckers I can get the gaskets off the donor car correct?

Gaskets and crush washers all need to be brand new mate. tehy're consumables, and are used to keep the gasses and fluids where they need to be and not on the outside!
