So just picked up a VCDS cable from NHN and on with my tweaks... first one is Disable seat belt chime but I'm a bit confused to whether anyone else run into the same prompt? Not sure what to do:

Disable Seatbelt Chime

[17 - Instruments] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 0
Bit 2-4 – Seat Belt Warning inactive

Hit yes. It is just filling in the workshop number by default so dealers can't see it's been re programmed.

Much like it will automatically give you the correct security access codes for each module when you're coding/adapting.

Sorry last one, I don't quite get how to do this:

Enable Release Parking Brake without putting foot on Brake

[53 - Parking Brake][Security Access - 16] (Enter code presented by program)
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 4 Set to 0

Enable Release Parking Brake without putting seatbelt

[53 - Parking Brake][Security Access - 16] (Enter code presented by program)
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 7 Set to 0

(I don't see a channel 4 or 7)

I would be lying if I said I knew. Yours is the B8.5, mine is the B8 so it has a different menu there. I discovered most of my coding by myself, I recommend making a 'module map' in other words write down what the adaptation setting and long coding is so that whatever you play around with you can always just put it back to the way it was!

Two seconds, I'll go and screenshot my channel 53 to see what I've changed. Might be helpful? In the meantime, check this out ^^ as this is the updated VCDS list for the B8.5.

This is the one I can't get working on B8.5 either :( Mind you, I don't get the correct security access code so you seem to be getting a little further than I

I got it working after talking with Ross tech, but can't remember how exactly!!! Just checked on mine for some of the settings, but not obvious what I changed.

(1) Driver out apply
(2) Driver out apply - evaluation of brake pedal
(4) Driver out apply - evaluation of seat belt

All these are set to not activated on mine. Let me know what yours are and if they are different suggest to change, otherwise I'll take another look and see if I can work it out.

Have you tried 78713?

Just tried that and it said I had access. I then tried changing some values and it said I required security access. Also, my options are different to those above. I was trying "Seat belt buckle detection" and "Manual release". I think it might be because I am running a very old version of VCDS :(

Probably worth upgrading to the latest version.....I was advised to upgrade to the beta version when I was having issues.

I'm not sure if I can upgrade. I bought the cable from eBay thinking it was genuine but I have a feeling it isn't :-( it cost enough!

Maybe it's real then? If you want give Ross-Tech a call and they'll tell you. If not speak to 'NHN' or 'Sandra' on here, they'll be able to help with it and maybe point you towards updating it.

I tried this but it doesn't work,

(1) Driver out apply (was activated, disabled but still no change)
(2) Driver out apply - evaluation of brake pedal (already disabled)
(4) Driver out apply - evaluation of seat belt (already disabled)

Can "parklife" make a module map (application, controller map, channel 53, adaptation and enter the security code) to directly compare with your module map "Liquidfusion" that's the easiest way to see the differences in the adaptations!

Here you go - one thing to note I have only activated Enable Release Parking Brake without putting seatbelt
