Can anyone recommend someone to replace the DVD Drive in my Rns-E please?

DIY its easy
if you can get the drive

I've replaced a few, is it a mk1 or mk2 unit?

Sorry for digging out the old topic.
I am trying to replace DVD drive in RNS-E (mk2 Led version) as I get 'disc eject mechanism error' on VCDS.
It is a bit funny, because if I manage to put a disc in, it works as normal, but if I reject a disc. The drive keeps trying to eject and never stops.
Once it start like that, it won't stop even after I plug off and on the connector. Very occasionary, it stops and I can put a disc back - then it works.
Maybe I just should leave the latest map disc in, but I would like to fix it.

If I buy a replacement disc drive, is that just simple swap as you answered above before?
I already stripped it out and removed the drive actually. Can I just put a new one in?
Do I need to do coding or something through VCDS or something else?
I am asking this because I saw a few people saying I would have to pair the drive to the motherboard of RNS-E. I may need a speacial tool (I don't know what it is). Please help and I am so grateful for your advice.

Thank you. It is MK2 LED version by the way.

It requires soldering skills & you have to swap pcb's over.

We offer this service if interested.

Thank you for your confirmation. But you are not in UK, aren't you?
I found a private service at £120 or Hazzydays ltd doing at £240 +VAT, but I think I can claim the cost to a Warranty.

I am in the UK, but £120 is very cheap, that sounds more like a laser replacement rather than drive, drives are about £120+ alone, we can swap the drive out for cheaper than hazzydays but not as cheap as £120.

Hi. Thanks.
Yes, this guy sounds too cheap, but he just confirmed (10 mins ago) that he would replace the whole disc and he understands he needs to work on PCB because of the issue, but I use him only if I cannot make an insurance claim (ie I have to cover the costs).

The reason I am thinking of using Hazzydays is that they can help me to claim this repair to Auto Guard.
Hazzydays is dealing with Auto Guard many times in the past.

Where are you based? Can you help me to make a claim as well?
If so, I'd rather ask you then.

Thank you.

I suspect they will require vat registered company, of which I'm not, of course an invoice can be provided for the job.
