Hill Hold Assist HHA

Full headlights should be on at all times, like in Sweden (who introduced it after changing from driving on left to right overnight in the 60's)

The day time light was introduced in the 70's in spite of lot protests - but proved pretty good as its facilitates fast unconscious spotting.

Did you also order without a starter motor (only lazy people don't hand-crank engines!), no power steering (just for lazy people), no automatic choke (can't believe how lazy some people get!) etc?

:p

You can take everything to a an extreme, the hill thing is in my mind perhaps for the lazy, but that view may change as I get older :) If you are happy with it, I am happy for you :)

OT - Ah, got mixed up there, I thought it was linked to driving on the right - thanks!

I think you are mixing up 'lazy' with 'convenient'. Why do things if the car can do them for you? It's not lazy, it's just more convenient, and probably safer too.

I think you can drop it. From my perspective, you can be as convenient as as you wish. I guess the most convenient would be having your own chauffeur, or taking the bus or a cab? With the introduction of electronic hand brakes, I see no point in paying for it, but that's me. The safety aspect could be a reason, but I do not see a strong reason here.

That's fine, but the fact is that everyone here who has ordered it has given it nearly universally positive reviews, and there is no need to call them 'lazy' (or 'American' - lovely racial stereotype coming through there) just because they decided to spec a convenience feature that you personally don't see the need for.

But they are perhaps both lazy AND convenient liking people (generalised from the preferences of cars and specs) and probably happy with it. "Racial" is about race, I better point out, sir. As far as I know, the Americans at the most can be called a cultural and political entity (united in a nation). And from my point of view, there are far worse thing than to be called lazy and convenient (which from start was a less serious remark) From your point of view, it seems that hill assist is a deadly serious matter. From my point of it isn't. One might remark that if hill assist is such a crucial addition, it should certainly be a standard fit - shame on Audi.

Crucial? No. Incredibly useful? Yes.

You should know by now that Audi will charge you for extras wherever they can!

And don't try and dodge your remarks by trying to be pedantic, it won't wash with me!

As far as I can see, it worked just fine ;)

Of course, Audi charges whatever they can from us, poor consumers, but we still get breaks fitted as standard. :)

Again, if you found it incredible useful, good luck with it, and I am happy for you :)
