Anyone one tried one of these downpipes?

Not sure, looks just like the miltek though, would this fit a sportback do you think?

That's what I thought I have messages the seller to see if it fits a sportback, would probably couple it with a miltek cat back or cobra or something.

For that price it's worth a gamble! Tempted after I did the pre cat removal yesterday.

If this fits the sportback I'll be snapping one up. Then just need the rest of the exhaust. I will keep this thread informed when I hear back from the seller.

Should fit either 3dr and sportsback as it's only the cat and I think the sportsback is different at the back box as it's slightly longer, could be wrong though.

looks like its from the same people who makes the DP's for the 8l cars.

as far as I'm aware everyone on the 8L section with decats use these from ebay and swear by them.

if your looking for one i'd definitely try it.

As soon as the seller confirms it will fit i'm gonna order one.

I have no idea if this is relavent, it probably is though, but you are aware that an S3 has a K04 turbo not a K03 that the 2.0T has. The K04 is bigger so i would imagine the flange mounting will probably be different.

Apparently the turbo flange is the same size and shape on K03 and K04 on the 8p but I know it was different on my old 8l s3 but it's all in the bend and if it's Quattro and what not, if someone can confirm they will fit an 8p s3 3dr you have a confirmed sale. I think I asked the same company before on eBay and he wasn't much help, all he said was it would fit any Audi or VW so that's helpful....

i think the difference between 3dr and 5 door is in the backbox section of the exhaust system , and it it fits 4 wheel drive cars it will fit 2 wheel drive so thats probably why he has said it will fit all audis and vw's

He said today it fits so that's good enough for me. Gonna get one of these ordered along with a miltek no res system and hopefully fit it at the beginning of next month. That should be enough to take my car to stage 2 then I can look at getting a fuel pump!

Very very interested to see how this goes, keep us updated.

Sorry to be a wimp but I'm gonna let other people have a go at this first but please let us know if it fits s3's.
Is there any mention of a sports cat? Dunno if I want a decat just yet.

Worst case scenario if its a bad fit and I send it back and buy a miltek, if it fits at the end of the day its a bit of unrestricted pipe. I have emailed bluefin to make sure I can run their map on my car with decats and no probs. I don't really buy into the whole sport cat thing, 9 time out of 10 a decat is more effective and cheaper. Only advantage is you have to swap at MOT time which I can live with.

Oh god, cheap parts and a bluefin map, Why spend £15K on an S3 and fit cheap parts and maps to it?

It was 20k seeing as you asked, a bluefin isnt a cheap map, get your head out of your ****. I wanted a map that was removable and with a reputable company for support etc. I work for a company that gets exceptional deals on these sort of things so went for it and have been happy with it.

People like you make me laugh, you no doubt just believe everything you read on the internet. I could programme a rolling road to make my car read 500bhp if I wanted to it wouldn't mean the car was making that. A lot of these parts are nothing but 'scene tax' and the sheep will gladly get out their credit cards to buy top end parts because someone on a forum told them it was worth it.

I'm not fitting replica wheels to it or a power boost valve I am considering a cheaper alternative for a downpipe and coupling it with a miltek system which by the sound of it many people in 'older' s3's have done and been very happy with, if you could please inform me how the miltek equivalent will be 3x as good I may well be convinced.

If it turns up and is **** i'll send it back, if it is good I will fit it and write a review on my thoughts and I am sure if it works well people will benefit out of this thread.

But I do appreciate your constructive input, honestly..

I have to agree with the above.

The prices the "popular" companies charge for these downpipes are insane. If this fits well and the welds/flexi are good then there's no reason it wouldn't be every bit as good as any other downpipe, it's just a formed stainless steel pipe at the end of the day with a flange, a couple of lambda boss's and a hanger.

If it's good I'd be looking at buying a universal 3" Magnaflow 200 cell cat for £95 and having the local exhaust place cut the pipe and weld it in too, £50 tops last time I had it done for a previous car.

Also one thing to think of, considering milltek parts are so expensive, and yes they are warranted, the welds located near the turbo crack on the turbo back systems.

Would be interesting to see how long this lasts, as far as I'm aware none of the welds have cracked on the 8L downpipes from these people.

Any news on this people? I get paid at the end of the month and will get one if anyone has been brave enough to take the plunge and buy it yet on a 3dr S3?

Price has gone up now, not gonna buy one out of principle. Think I will just buy a miltek, do Remus do an exhaust for the s3?

This is a fwd only downpipe. For 2.0t a3s there is only two differences for downpipes and that is fwd and quattro. The quattro pipe needs to clear the driveshaft.

I'm sure I've read about 8P owners buying eBay downpipes £100 cheaper than the buy it now price - Also cheaper and unbranded but have had good experiences with them.
Let us all know how you get on with these please.

I'm not too clued up on exhausts...

If this is bought then what else is required!? Just the backbox!?

yeah very interested in this ! just waiting to see if they fit ! cannot be that bad of quality and even at the price i could buy 2 for the price of a branded one ! also i wouldn't mind about cutting it up if i go down the big turbo route !

This is the downpipe and 'decat' basically. If you bought this you would need the catback section of exhaust, or centre section and rear box whatever you want to call it.

It seems that its miltek or nothing on these exhaust systems, massive gap in the market imo.

So if you can get catback rear box then so i take it that would be full exhaust...

Downpipe..
Decat centre section
And cat back rear box!?

and i'd always take a BCS powervalve system over a Miltek anyday...

I'm happy to fit it for someone. I pulled my cat off last wknd and it is almost 'dented' so the prop shaft can run really close to the pipe right where it turns 90* if someone can upload the picture of this decat and a milltek one we should have a fairly good idea if it fits. As said used this manufacturer for my golf and no problems for 1&1/2 years

This and a centre and rear box would be a full system yes, so it is a more cost effective exersize.

Granta where are you located?

Av just looked at the advert again and it specifically states S3 2006-2012 so if it didnt fit, simply return...

So where do you buy centre sections from!? As av said previously, not got a clue about exhausts... Although i have fitted a bcs system with a mate to his... Easy enough fitting them, that was a full pre-made system tho..

Aquiring the right parts is the problem for me.. Not the fitting

As far as I am aware there is no similar exhaust price-wise to this, I think the best option is to buy a miltek catback system or something. Just search s3 cat back on ebay or something.

Its worth a try, its not going to be Akrapovic quality but it is probably welded together better than a miltek if recent reviews are to be believed.

I am going to do some investigation on different exhausts and prices tomorrow.

I think the milltek issues where a while ago, its been sorted now, giving them a call would be the best thing to do though. Also they where prone to cracking when mapped around stage 2+ without upgraded engine mounts. Just done some research, Cobra are a UK sheffield based company with lifetime guarantee on their products, the non res decat version is £690 from GNJ Cobra Sport - Audi S3 8P (3 Door) (06-13) - Turbo Back Exhaust System (De-Cat/Non-Resonated)
