I was supposed to get mine tomorrow but its been delayed till monday :( The transport companies are having delays :( Enjoy your car!

I saw three car transporters on the A1 yesterday morning loaded with a variety of new cars, including Audis. Unfortunately one of them was on the hard shoulder.

Sorry for delay. Went to football. More pics to follow at the weekend but here's a quick one!

Car is absolutely epic

Very nice, +1 for the saloon!

Enjoy the new car smell & feeling! Lovely car.

Thanks all. Have been up since 6.30am sorting out music. Loaded up my 5th gen iPod and an SD card and will do some testing today.

Got given the blue cable which I think means I'm knackered with artwork for now but will speak to lease company on Monday and get them to sort that.

Early thoughts:

- not sure I understand the negative comments regarding suspension. I'm on the 'standard' sport set up and it's not hard at all. If I had my chance again I'd definitely spec S-Line suspension. No hardship though...it's a lovely comfortable ride.

- wind noise. Definitely picks up when at high speeds. Doubt it will be an issue for me as most of my driving is on twisty A and B roads. Worth bearing in mind if you do a lot of motorway miles though.

- tech pack. Miles out of my budget (as I was dead set on 2.0 TDi S-Line) but if you can afford it...get it! The standard screen is fine, it's just that you see a big border which acts as a permanent reminder that you didn't spec the better option.

- standard audio. I had originally specced *** but dropped it to get the car 3 months earlier. I've got a Golf GTi loaded with amps, sub, components, crossovers etc and I knew whatever I chose would struggle to match that. But I can confirm that the standard audio is actually pretty good. No window shaking bass of course, but at 37 with two kids I never really use that in my Golf anyway. If all you want is a nice sounding system that goes louder than you would comfortably listen to for extended periods of time, then the standard system is fine. No doubt *** would improve upon it, but I can honestly say that if I was re-speccing my car again I would drop the *** and go for Interior Light Pack and Hold Assist.

S-Line seats - my view, don't waste your money upgrading them. They are superb and the S-Line embossing is a touch of class.

Non smoking pack - don't select it! The Audi ash tray is a nice additional item that's handy for holding loose change.

Exhaust pipes - already filthy after 100 miles. Going to take regular cleaning to keep them looking good!

The positives. Well to be honest, I could spend another hour waxing lyrical about the interior, exterior, ride, performance, comfort etc. Suffice to say that it absolutely feels like a premium saloon and is far and away the best car I have ever owned. I can't stop looking at it!

Re wind noise - that's interesting as I really can't say that I've noticed that on my S3 SB - in fact both my wife and I have commented on how very quiet the car is and how little wind flutter there is from anywhere. Might be worth checking the shut lines on the doors etc just to make sure there isn't a silly alignment issue causing turbulence?

exhausts - tell me about it. The chrome tips on my exhausts are a right pain to keep clean. I'm going to clean them right up and try some G Techniq C5 on them to see if that might help.

One other observation.

Certainly for my driving/journeys/roads the MPG in Dynamic mode is no worse than Efficient.

Stick it in Dynamic and leave it there!

I'm finding that too - although I'm comparing individual mode (engine noise dynamic, engine and gearbox set to auto) to economy.

There is a change in engine note. I'd say it's pretty subtle though. More pronouced in the S3 I'd imagine!
