2006 2.0 TDi 140 PD BKD with 60k miles

Ok so everytime i start the car im greeted with a message telling me the car will need a service in 200 miles or 240 days.

I will be doing this myself and getting the book stamped.

But obviously selecting the best oil is very important for me.
Looking on Europarts i have saw the following (cant remember exact prices) for 4 litres-
Valvoline £55
Castrol Edge £50
Shell Helix £35
Mobil £60 i think...
(Correct me if im wrong on any)

Naturally id get Castrol Edge as it being a well regarded brand :/

What are you asking? What Oil to pick? I think most would choose Castrol Edge, that's what Audi use when servicing I believe.

You'll need VCDS to reset your service indicator as well if you are doing it yourself.

Yes sorry, unsure what oil would be the optimum, so much choice but want the best and cleanest for the engine.

I can get hold of somebody to reset the indicator :)

Go to your local TPS, the correct quantum oil is only £30ish for 5 litres anyway. You can also pick up all your filters too, may as well fit genuine audi parts. They're rarely more expensive tbh.

Cheers mate iv sent them an email as i cant find prices online... Bit tight on money atm with insurance renewal etc so gunna change oil and filter this month... Then air filter and glow plugs next month lol

Will i need, or is it best to get a new sump bolt? And how much are these you reckon?
My old ibiza, halfords quotes £20 for a bolt!!!! I just reused the one i took out lol

Regardless of the brand,

you need an oil that meets VW 504 00 or 507 00

Look for these specs on the side of the bottle.

I tend to buy a fully syn oil like Q8 or Shell which are more cost effective than likes of Mobil etc.
This is because oil is changed at approx 6k miles which is way sooner than a typical change on variable service would could be as high as 18k miles.

Yeah i'll get fully synthetic but i wont be able to change oil every 6k miles :/ seems a bit soon tbf.
Usually do it every year or 12,000 miles as a general rule

Castrol Edge the top one for long life aswell?

Some oils claim to be more than just oil in terms of cleanliness etc for the engine ... But which ones actually live up to these claims

Use this code at checkout for eurocarparts:

Should give you a 25% discount.

I reset mine by pushing the button thingys on the instrument cluster..or does it depend on what service is due?

Don't know if they're still doing the promotion but I picked up 20 litres of quantum platinum for £60 from TPS a couple of weeks ago.
