Advice on spending money on the right things for my s3

Yeah that's the best way to be honest, google has the answer to pretty much anything and everything. Yeah I think at this point though your current DV should be holding boost as it should be. You will know if it's not the car suddenly appears to drop in power.

Haha couldn't have said it better myself!

certainly not dropping in power at the moment! - think ill get the gfb dv+ and fit it myself in good time - get it now and wont hurt so much when I buy more extras in the future ;) haha

Cheers for your help !

You can find which rev dv you have by looking at your current one. Its right at the front of engine slightly right of centre. You might have to lift engine cover to see it, or shine a torch at it and look for part number. The last letter at the end of part number will tell you which revision you have. Takes 5 mins to do.

Cheers- will check after work and see what it is - going to get gfb DV+ put on in next couple of weeks after reading good things about it

The problem is getting off the engine cover. It really is a strain, especially if you are little like me!!

This might help a bit:

OOOO-A3: How To Remove the Engine Cover / Stock Airbox

Put some sort of rubber grease on the spigots before refitting to enable easy removal in the future.

I got the tts engine cover on mine now - got the amd cai so old one was taken of so hopefully can see it fairly easily!

you should see it then as the oem cover has a slight over hang at front and the dv is tucked in under it. but as i said you should be able to see it using a bright light. P/N for rev d is - 06H 145 710 D

Here's a pic of dv in engine bay. (Thanks to Warren_S3 for pic)
