Craig, it's the equivalent mpg that really appeals. I'm sure the servicing and insurance etc might be more but I'm an old git so doubt it will be too bad. I think my hesitation is that if the bodywork is in a bad way, it hasn't been loved. Does that mean it's been ragged, not had the oil topped up properly, etc? I think having driven it ragging it is probably less of a concern as it's so damn fast it doesn't take much effort to get it going, so ragging not required.
I did flick the DIS over to the realtime mpg setting for a laugh. Was cruising down a dual carriageway and was showing 55mpg, gave it the boot and it dropped to 10mpg.
On paper it's 93bhp more than my B7 but sitting in the seat it felt two to three times faster. Guess it's that V6 torque/grunt. Other things I noticed is that the build quality felt excellent. My B7 is very well built but this just felt a notch better again. Very solid.
Need to try and get up to Slough this week to see the other S4 which is better spec'd and has 15k less miles.
