I have searched everywhere and I can get pictures of the car with the interior lighting package but nowhere can I find what the difference is between the standard A3 and an A3 with the lighting pack. Surely a normal A3 has to have interior lights?

The interior light package adds "Anti-glare lighting for the passenger compartment comprising door sill and footwell lighting at the front as well as illuminated inside door openers, vanity mirrors and illuminated cup holders, 2 reading lights each at the front and rear LED ambient lighting and active door reflectors."

All you get as standard are normal interior lights in the roof. Well worth the extra as it makes the interior much more 'classy' I think a member called Vertigo1 has posted some pictures which show the interior lighting.

So there is no foot well light at all without the interior lighting package?

Standard car does have lighting inside, which would serve its purpose well I'm sure.

Interior lighting does add footwell lights and LED lighting for front and rear passengers.

A fair few passengers have commented at how bright the LED lighting is and classy look as it fades. We'll worth the money I reckon. Only quibble is that glovebox light is not LED bit I'm sure that can be sorted easy enough. There was a you tube link posted way back as the 8V was first available in 3dr which let you see the lighting inside.

Interior lighting should be standard on at least the S Line and S3 in my opinion.....

Yes it should! Cant believe this. Just phoned the dealer and added it. More expensive every day!

I ordered it for my car, expecting something similar to the interior light pack I had on my A6.

It's a somewhat underwhelming experience if I am honest and I am not sure kit worth the extra money to have a illuminated cup holder.

I suspect that the regular interior lighting would more than suffice.

The ILP is nice but agree it's not 'out of this world'. However the standard is really rudimentary so compared with that, it is really good.

Led interiors can change of colour? Is there any option for it?

One of the things my wife wanted on her car were illuminated vanity mirrors. When I realised these and light/rain sensors were also part of the Xenon light pack - it made the Xenon pack less than £900 extra. In addition to the Xenon lights, the pack actually has £615 of optional extras. We saw a new red A3 Sport with standard lights at the weekend. It looked so much like an old A3. So glad my wife agreed to adding the Xenon pack to her car. It looks so much better with them.

Yeh, the standard lights really don't look anything special, the Xenons definitely make it look more modern!

1st photo is the overhead light from interior light pack from my A1. It's the same in the a3. 2nd is the standard light from my S3. Bought the car from showroom and didn't have the light pack, but then again, saw it on the Wednesday , bought Thursday and picked up Saturday so only a 4 day turnaround

I've chosen the interior light pack solely for the reading lights - I do find it pretty crazy that this is considered an option, not a standard. I've got it as standard in my nice 13 year old Golf!

I've seen this thread which shows the car with the lighting pack added. Unfortunately I've not seen similar pics of a car without the pack.

I noticed Vertigo1 said the centre ring could be distracting. Can anyone with the lighting pack who has done a reasonable of night time driving give any opinions on how distracting the centre lights are? I may be swayed into adding the pack on my order...

I'm still struggling to know whether the Interior Light Package is worth it.

I've got an A3 Sportback S Line on order and I've already added the Comfort Pack, Privacy Glass and Audi Sound System to it. I've read loads about the Interior Light package but can't find any photos that show it off.

Does anybody have some or know where I can find some please?

From my previous post, you can see the diff with the overhead light. It's a warm light rather than LED, and there's no reading light. You don't get vanity mirror lights, footwell light, glovebox lights, rear reading lights, little light in door handles, lights in the cupholders....
I think it's worth it

Cheers guys. That helps me a bit, thanks.

I just picked up my A3 yesterday after starting this thread and I have to say the lighting pack is really smart. I like the blue glow from the LED's as opposed to the normal lighting. If I was to order again I would get it. I'm glad I did!

I didnt spec the lighting pack but just ordered some white leds to swap the bulbs out with. Dont get the cupholder leds and stuff but I can live with that

The interior lighting pack is a good option but mainly to bring the lighting up (and to above) to the standard of other cars eg puddle lights, mirror lights etc.
Without it, the standard lighting looks rather like a throwback to cars of 10 years ago.

Even my 8L from 12 years ago had puddle lights.... But on the 8V I need the lighting pack to get them.

Can this be retro fit? It's the I've option I wish I had included that I didn't!

I've just had a PM from T8ups who says that not only is the glove box bulb not LED (even with the LED lighting package) but the red door warning bulbs are not either. Come on Audi - get your act together - for the sake of 3 more bulbs you could have said that ALL bulbs were LED.

I am retro unfitting my Trups extended interior LED's from my 8P prior to my 8V arrival, so the only form of light from any part of the car will be LED.

Do you think i've got an LED fetish?

I think you are being LED astray by your odd fetish!

Yes mate, i've got the bag of them in a drawer somewhere LOL.

Fleet folk want too much for it to make it a decent purchase for the mrs.

Depending how bright the stock LED's are I may install them all in the 8V or fit them to Dad's new Touran. Just need to check the loom compatibility of the rear footwell lights.

With the basic tech pack (no connect), and ILP, do you get the illuminated ring around the MMI wheel?

I had this same spec on the last car, and the MMI wheel was not lit. Had a border but that's it.

May have changed, would be nice if it has.

Hmmm maybe someone can confirm. I've seen a pic of one with a nice white ring around the edge of the wheel, not sure what to spec to get it though haha

Have specced tech pack with ILP, not overly fussed if I get that light or not, would just be nice to know haha

The non tech pack wheel had a red light, the tech pack has the white light.
