Heko or Climair wind deflectors ?

Hey jet
I got hekos on all 4. I regret not applying some extra adhesive before fitting. It comes with adhesive when I bought em but very minimal. Eventually the glue weakens and you can see the yellow tape if you're up close. This is because they drop out of the window seal a little. They come with metal clips which have been solid in holding them in. I got 1 clip holding the rears and 2 clips for the fronts. Make sure you get the clips which will hold em into place. Heko sent me 6. I might redo mine soon with some better adhesive. They look good with the dark tint finish and hold up well on 100km phr freeways. My mate fitted his without clips and they flew off on the freeway. Ask for 2 clips for each window if you get all 4.

I've had heko ones in the past too and they were brilliant. Ones the clips are in secure thy aren't coming out, not easily anyway.

Should mention they work good to lol. Hats don't fly off anymore and rain doesn't drip in when you want a little fresh air with the window about a 1/4 down.

I actually recieved some Heko ones today but wouldnt fit, turns out they had sent me the wrong ones (wrong year car)... (pillocks) so trying to get them sent back so thought I would just ask you guys on here your opinions, yes they did look good, shame they didnt fit lol

Cheers guys

climair don't fall out and are much better quality. i made a thread about them ages ago.

shows the need for a "product reviews" section in these forums as this has been asked a few times this month

Have both ClimAir & Heko, the ClimAir ones are more secure out of the box, but the rear ones on a Sportback bow out too much & look nasty! Heko ones look much better but as has been said, need fixing in at the rear to stop them flying off at speed.

I loved the Heko's on my previous 3 door cars and was almost set to buy them for my Sportback until I read this.

Do you mean they fit well but just look odd as they're a more curved design compared to the flatter Helo profile?

Do you have any pics?

That's exactly it! The ClimAir ones look odd at the rear! I'm sure I have some pics, I'll dig some out...

Here you go

The first two are the ClimAir...

ClimAir 2

ClimAir

Second two are Team Heko...

Asda Blur

Asda3a

The Heko ones are much flatter & squarer than the ClimAir.

HTH.

P.S: If anyone wants a set of ClimAir for a Sportback, you can have my used set cheap. :)

I have a stupid question about the clips on the Hekos which I just got, how do I fit them?! haha. I have already installed the deflectors just using the adhesive strips but the diagram for the clips is just rubbish.

Please help :)

the pointy out bit on the clip faces the inside the car, push them up into the window channel using something hard and flat. could probably use a few old cards put together to push them in.

Iv read that wind deflectors actually produce quite a bit of wind noise when driving at speed :/
Thats what put me off getting a set tbf cuz they'd be a nightmare on the motorway

The deflectors don't cause the noise, it's the fact that the glass doesn't fit snugly into the window seal because of those metal clips.

Using HEKO here on my 3 door s3. Not using clips and they fit great. No issues whatsoever. Dont like the look of the Climair at all.

That's not true, the climair ones don't come with metal clips but still produce the same amount of wind noise as the heko's with clips.

I've had both on this car and they both produce the noise, it's not a lot, but I now enjoy not having them on for the quietness.

Yes, but the noise comes from the gap between glass and seal not the deflectors. Any deflector prevents a 'factory-fit' seal as it pushes the glass inwards. Check the scratches in the top half-inch of your window after the deflectors have been fitted for a while!
