Does this package include the aluminium trim around the air conditioning controls?In the Audi catalogue ,under the SE spec,it shows a picture of the manual air con controls,but with the aluminium trim around it,just like the climate control spec cars.

I'm in a basic 1.4 SE today, obviously specced without QJ1 Aluminium Interior Elements.
There is NO Aluminium effect around the Airvents (dark grey colour), Manual Aircon, and door handles.

On the vents, glove compartment, wing-mirror adjustment switches, electric window switches, frame around the inside door handle, control buttons for the parking brake and the hold-assist button (if fitted)
Actually it looks fine......
Now when you are calculating how much you just lost on your extras when you sell - That will be awful..............

Given that Audi are trying to cater for all of their customers, the SE Aluminium accents package is for people who want to get an A3 but on a budget. Given there are many ways to get an A3 on the cheap like buying an older spec or even a different variation like the 8p, its all down to the individual.
You can't call someone a cheapskate if they do go for the lesser package, we can't all buy an S-line or S3. If Audi only produced one package for the A3 then their user base would be a lot less.
And some of us simply don't want an s-line or S3, I mainly drive my car to work and leave it in a car park all day.
Spending that kind of money plus all the look at me extras would be a complete waste of money.
Plus who's going to nick a plane Jayne SE when they can nick an S3 with a load of toys on it?

My wife's budget A3 SE spec with stronic, xenon pack, comfort pack, sat nag, etc - has almost £5k of optional extras and a RRP of nearly £26k.
Not everyone needs or wants 17/18inch alloys/tyres and sports seats.

The only 'look at me' extra we specified was the xenon lights. However, I have them on my Golf and really like their functionality too.
At the end of the day the majority of people will look at the car and just recognise it as a red A3. Many will struggle to even realise that it is a new vs old A3.
I added three things i use all the time and think I would have had my money from them when I sell, auto lights, auto wipers, auto dimming mirror and interior light pack, Aluminium accents for £75 just finished it off ....
At 53 i didn't want sport anything, and I wouldn't order the sport spec then deselect the sport suspension.
I like the S3s etc, just not the type of car for me and if I had the money in cash i'd pay it off my mortgage rather than give it to Audi.......

How could you do that to a Dacia S3? SHOCKING..............

Ok can we please get back to my original question?
On page 23 of the new A3 brochure on the SE spec pages, you can clearly see the middle photo shows manual air con controls with the aluminium trim.I also added the simple upgrade of the aluminium 12v plug which replaces the standard black one on the non smoking package, which also helps lift the overall look.
Would it indicate that this is now included in this aluminium interior upgrade option?
On another note, i to have now moved on from big wheels and lower suspension.( unless where you live has autoban like road surfaces.
Comfort now takes priority.Audi standard suspension and 16inch alloys are ideal for our crap road surfaces.
UK roads are now so bad you spend more time watching/avoiding pot holes and broken surfaces than anything else.
This is just as dangerous as mobile phone use when driving( something i hate seeing but is all to common)
A ban rather than a fine would help here.?

If it's any consolation there are similar traits on 'another forum' I sometimes visit with S5 owners. At the end of the day cars are just boxes with plastic badges on them, people get carried away with their own delusions of grandeur. When I open the bonnet I can still see Skoda logos imprinted in the parts.
