Picked up my new A3 saloon with Comfort pack on Saturday, but noticed there is no symbol on the windscreen indicating that it's an acoustic screen, no ACOUSTIC or an ear symbol. The screen is made by Pilkington and has the sun strip on the top. Anyone else noticed an indication that their screen is acoustic?

There is no marking saying so on mine either, but it's very quiet.

Where does it say that the 8V comes with an Acoustic windscreen?
I've had a quick look through the Pricing and Specification Guide and cannot find any mention of it although I'm sure I've seen it mentioned somewhere.

Yeah, no markings that I've found. Although I don't think they make a non acoustic windscreen with the sun band.
Try tapping it with your knuckle. Then compare with one of the side windows. The acoustic windscreen gives a much duller thud.

It's not mentioned under the Comfort pack in either the October 2013 or February 2014 P+S Guides. All they say under Comfort pack is:
Comfort package. Includes auto-dimming rear-view mirror with light and rain sensor package (PU7), Audi parking system,
rear (7X1) and Cruise control (8T2)
Looks like its part of the Light & Rain Sensor Package:
Automatically switches the dipped beam headlights and windscreen wipers on/off depending on the light and rain conditions. Includes coming home/leaving home function which delays the deactivation
of the front and rear lights after locking and automatic activation of the lights when unlocking. The package also includes
a windscreen with sunband for improved insulation of the windscreen and acoustic glass for reduced outside noise.

OK, more specifically, Acoustic Screen is part of PU8 Light and Rain Sensor Package. PU7, (auto dimming mirror) incudes PU8, which in turn can be part of the Comfort Pack.

Presumably you've saved a pdf of your configured car?
If so, it should have this:
4GF Heat-insulating glass, green-tinted

In the P+S Guide it does say under the option (PCB) Audi active lane assist:
"light and rain sensor (windscreen band not included)" but whether that means no Acoustic screen it does not say.

I have lane assist (As part of driver assist pack), and have sun strip and I believe acoustic screen.
Edit: I dread to think what it will be like if I ever need to get the screen replaced. It is different to the acoustic screen without lane assist. There is a clear trapezoidal area in the middle of the sun band for the camera.

It may be worth having a look at the screen and seeing if it has an Audi part number printed on it. A lot of Audi parts do. If it has make a note and if you ever need a replacement you can quote the part number to whoever is doing the replacement.
Tried your suggestion of tapping the screen, but it sounds the same to me as the side windows.
A bit of an update on this. Dealer has checked my cars build spec and confirmed it doesn't have an Acoustic Windscreen fitted. Apparently Audi UK say it has, so the question has now been escalated to Audi Germany, awaiting a response.
I ordered the comfort pack and also can not see any indication on the window that it is acoustic. Not that I mind much as it is quiet in the car. It would just be nice to know if it is installed or not.

I will have my screen replaced on thursday by Audi,
EDIT : mine is acoustic and I have Lane assist.

Another who had the comfort pack but no marking in window, I bought 4 months old so don't have original spec. Would be interesting to know if comfort pack = acoustic windscreen?
Mine seems quiet enough but if its one of those things you should get and haven't it will eat away at me

Any update on this? I've got comfort pack but can't see any markings suggested on here to say its acoustic glass
4 weeks after raising this with my dealer, who has raised it with Audi UK who have asked the factory what windscreen has been fitted, I am still waiting for a definitive answer.
Not too sure whether this'll work as posting from iPhone. I had a courtesy car the other day so thought I'd take a picture of the windscreen icons. This car was a 1.6 diesel SE with no comfort pack. On this windscreen was:

The only difference I see between the two is the number of dots and position of the 3. No obvious other difference. Can't comment between noise levels of the cars as one was diesel and mine is petrol.

I too have this - top left & right of the screen, just below the sunstrip. (184Q + comfort)

Can anyone clarify yet what markings an acoustic screen has on it yet?
I have comfort pack, but no strip and no obvious markings to suggest it is!
