Hi all
Can anyone recommend a good quality HID main beam upgrade kit to replace my standard halogen bulbs that don't cause any issues with flagging fault codes up?
thanks in advance.

OEM is the best way forward mate tbh with least issues, as the beam will be all over the place in a non xenon lense, have you searched for a set yet?

I fitted a pair of 6000k after market HID's in my last car (mk4 golf GTI) as the standard halogen setup was shockingly poor and the results were amazing, I didn't have any issues with blinding oncoming traffic either.

Did that car have projector or reflector lights?

I am all for HID lights, but in the correct housings. I fitted some to my previous A3 in projectors with a good cut off, HIDs in reflectors are just inconsiderate to oncoming traffic and will get melted by my OEM HIDs on main beam in my A4 when I come across them and six spotlights if I am in my Land Rover. Please fit them in projectors if you want HID. There are lots of threads on here about fitting projectors in halogen housings if OEM is not the way you want to go, error canceling kits for canbus should be ok too.
