A4 Black Grill

Hi Folks,
Really struggling with this.....maybe someone can point me in the right direction...

I have a A4-B7 S-Line Avant (2006) fitted with the S-Line Bumper. I had the car to the Paint Shop for a freshen up, decided that a "Black Honeycombe Grill" would be in order, so one ordered up but unfortunately the Grill I ordered didn't fit, approx 2" short. Since then I've tried to source one but having very little luck....any of you good folks able to advise....it's becoming a right chew....

you just need the S-line black grill, seems you received the SE version? Or you could just wrap the one you have? I think a few people have had success with that.
I've got a S-line SE so mine came as black but when I had the front resprayed for chips etc the bodyshop resprayed my grill the same colour as the body, phantom black, so I now have a pearlescent front grill

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I don'ät think you can buy an RS4 copy grill for an SE bumper....unless maybe FK do on. The other option is butcher your own grill and diy the honeycomb in yourself...er I think. An OEM RS4 Grill from a dealer is obscenely priced from what I recall.

I'm currently on the hunt for one second hand, but they dont come up all that often. No danger i'm spending over £400 for a grill thats for sure!

i was quoted on here £462 rs4 black grill and black holder...some difference from when you got yours and others came across on net so i have held off at present until one comes up on ebay or can justify it.

Finding one on eBay isn't easy either trust me. Plenty RS4 'style' grills if that's what you're in to but the real deal don't come along very often and still go for over £200....

If I can get one at that price I'll be all over it that's for sure. Front bumper is coming off next week for paint so now makes sense to fit a new one.

Wonder if they'd ship one up....?!

Just checked with Edinburgh audi to see if there was cheapness to be had up here.

Their price for the optics one..... £506

The guy seemed genuinely boggled as to how anyone could be selling them cheaper. Only solution he could think of was of a non-RS4, RS4 'style' grill which may have been an option for non RS4 cars.

Does anyone have the part number for the RS4 optics grill? And would Colchester / Sheffield ship one to me in Edinburgh?

i wonder how much they would charge for postage as i live in n.ireland but that's a huge difference in price markup and my local audi sucks for parts as they give you the wrong items or else there damaged.

It's not just the surround we are talking about mate, I've already got a black surround on my s-line grill.... This is a completely different grill with honey comb rather than slats

nice car, did you paint it with that stuff i forget the name thats like leaves a plastic film and you can remove at any time or did you use some kind of plastic etching paint thats on for good ? I have yet to do my headlight swap and audi belfast give me the same lights as before even though i quoted the other lights, then one headlight was damaged internal housing rattled like fu*ck so had to wait to do it this weekend.
I am fussy and want a honeycomb grill as i prefer it to the s line and s4 grill as it looks more aggressive and then i would vinyl the chrome black.

It isn't plastidip.

I got the clear headlights second hand of eBay for £100 and fitted last week as I had the orange indicator ones...

Gave Colchester Audi a call - they quoted the same price as Edinburgh, i.e £506

Sheffield Audi were even less helpful - they claimed it would be 'impossible' to get a price for the part without me supplying an RS4 Registration number for them to check against.

My optimism has vanished already and its not even 9am haha

They must of got a tip of that more people looking to buy lol. Ouch that is expensive i feel your pain, doesn't leave many audis dealers that supply parts in uk left to try lol.

It looks well like compared to the dull black plastic standard, is there a clear coat on it then ?
Yes plastidip as i thought it was that kind of stuff though i am not convinced on it just yet.
Thats pretty good deal for both, ones where charging that for one with postage for the orange ones. I changed all the bulbs in mine before installed as do that tomorrow weather permitting but i found them wedge w5w holders are wee fu*ckers to remove if you have big hands haha.

Try Stoke Audi in the sponsors section of the forum, they should be able to beat £506 at least.

I went cheapo with mine and plastidipped the chrome surround and rings on mine. As much as I like the RS4 one it's not enough for me to justify spending that kind of money and I actually quite like the S line one any way. Looked kind of odd to start with but once I'd wrapped the window chromes it all tied together better.
