Gauge pod locations

Not 100% keen on the steering column pod. My 04 looks like it doesn't have the air bags in the a pillar. Question is, is there any pods out there for the a pillar or looks ok mounted on the dash??

Pics would be nice.

I thought all B6 A4s had the pillar airbags, standard equipment. Although the cabs are probably an exception, lol.

Do they? Mine doesn't have the airbag stamped on the interior so assumed it doesn't have one.

Here's a panoramic shot of my interior with most of the pillars removed:

You can see the airbag runs all the way along the roof line, I don't have airbag stamped anywhere on my pillars other than by the grab handles.

The is an airbag marking just above seat belts I noticed when I pulled it all out to rewire the rear speakers

Yep, that sounds like the same one I have. Next to the grab handle and above b-pillar/seatbelt so I reckon you'll find that you have airbags behind your pillars. Though I've never seen pillars with pod openings available for our A4's anyway, only vent or steering cowl ones.

In USA they have been DIY ing defrost vent style ones that look quite nice. But my DIY skills are shocking

That side window vent pod is clever, I've not seen anyone do that before. I could probably make something very similar, looks like it'd only be around £30 worth of supplies.

I might have a go at it some time and put together a 'how to' guide for the forum. Making them to sell would be pointless; the time it'd take to hand make each one would put a ridiculous price on them.

£40 for Bez's pod and gauge is a bargain, you can't really go wrong there.

Hi yer a bit new this site sorry in advance if I make a booboo, reference the gauge pods you mention do you mean volt, oil temp and oil pressure I've had a guy who makes the pods for the new bettle , he made me a one off set that replace the three in the 3 centre air vents above the stereo and sun glass cubby hole pictures will be posted soon
