S3 Register

Hi all, my first post and after a few weeks of reading this forum I have finally ordered an S3 Sportback S-Tronic.

Decided to go with Monsoon grey, fine nappa black leather with silver sticking, twin spoke star anthracite part polished wheels, Matt-brushed aluminium inlay, comfort pack with parking system plus, LED headlights, Audi sound system, tyre pressure monitor and reversible boot matt. Ordered today (5th Feb), no build week yet, estimated delivery June.

I'm very excited as it will be my first brand new car and coming from my current motor, a Honda Civic Type-R (FN2) it's quite a step up in pace and refinement.

I ordered through Orangewheels who have put me in touch with Audi Coventry. Very smooth service and ended up getting a discount of around 9.8% off the OTR list price so very pleased with that considering my local dealership in wouldn't offer any discount and couldn't even get the list price correct on the spec I was after. They didn't give the discount of approx £300 when you tick the comfort pack with LED headlights.

I want to say what a great resource I have found this forum. I hope I can contribute some useful info myself in the future to help others out like you guys/gals have helped me.

Roll on June!

Hi all,

First off great to find a forum for the 8V model and secondly im picking up my new pride and joy tomorrow :) details below:

Audi S3 Sportback. S-Tronic. Phantom Black. Super sports seats. Full LED headlights. Bang & Olufsen. Magnetic Ride Suspension. Black Styling Back.

I was ringing around a few dealers and finally found one that could supply the car straight away deposit placed last week and picking the car up tomorrow. Excited as im coming out of a A5 coupe 2.0TFSI Quattro but fell in love after I test drove the S3. Anyway ill try post pics as soon as possible now we wait.

That discount only applies to SE and Sport trim A3s is why. S-line and S3 models are meant to be full price regardless of headlight option.

I ordered one last summer, then cancelled it. I still couldn't decide between the S3, AMG A45, or MK7 Golf R (just had a MK6 R....... and an 8P S3 before that).
Anyway, decided on the S3 and Warrington Audi sourced a car nearly exactly as I had specced (from Milton Keynes) and was driving it within a couple of weeks.

3dr manual
Estoril Blue
Silver leather
Light and rain sensor pack
Sat nav SD card based
Non smoking pack
Rear parking aid (accoustic)
Folding/heated mirrors
Tyre pressure monitor
Adaptive lights
Body Care

The only difference on the one I ordered, was I chose through load, but no SatNav.

I just wished I had got a 'smokers' car - cause it needs something in the console with a lid, rather than cup holders.

Apologies for poor PIC. It was snapped at dusk on my phone.

Love the car!

I noticed this too. When I got a quote through Carwow the discount was applied and offered by the dealership. Looking through the price run down on the configurator at the time, it wasn't applied. I double checked with the dealership, not wanting any nasty surprises and they said that they would offer the discount. Pricing the LED headlights at about £400.

I didn't use Carwow in the end and went direct with another dealer. When I ordered direct the discount didn't show in the run down. I asked about this at the dealership and chased Audi UK also.. The discount is for the comfort pack with LED headlight 'pack' rather than just LED headlights. You can't order LED pack for the S3. It's a mistake in the options via broker sites, where it has been worded incorrectly. If you check the latest brochure you can see this.

My salesman bettered the Carwow quotes so I didn't think of it again until now.

Could be a cheap way of getting LED headlights though for anyone ordering now. Have a look..

Cheers.

Apart from electric mirrors and driver assistance, the rest of your list is part of the performance pack (in Australia).. Not sure why you've separated it all out?

A little too excited for your first real car perhaps ;)

Longy - ordered S3 Sedan, Sepang Blue, S Performance Pack 2 (5 arm V), Driver Assist Pack, Folding mirrors, Privacy glass, Tinted windows. Delivery date - sometime in Sept/Oct.

One thing i've been hmm-ing and haa-ing about is the advanced key - I love the idea of it, but is it worth it, or is it a bit of a gimmick in reality? It's the last thing i'm on the edge of ordering but not 100% on it.

I went with advanced key as I tend to have loads of keys on my keyring and it does my head in always rattling when I drive and bouncing of the plastic interiors. Stupid reason to spend £400 but to me its worth it to keep them in my pocket!!!! I love a gadget is well, so 2 birds with 1 stone.

Hi Conor

Nice spec.. I have had Advanced Key on 3 cars now. First A5 was a preorder and came with it. second was a Cab and it is the only way to get remote roof operation, 3rd an A7 had push start.
To be honest apart from the Cabriolet roof feature I wouldn't pay extra. It's dead money and it's not that much of a hardship using the remote. Just my 2p but I don't rate it that much. I'd put the money towards a Pan Roof, at least that generally has some return when you sell!

Generally just have car and house key on one key ring.

8V S3 Sedan
S-Tronic
Performance Pack (Magnetic Drive, Super Sports Seats, B&O, Red Callipers, 19" Star Spoke Wheels, Keyless Entry, LED Headlights etc.)
Panoramic Sunroof
Assistance Pack (Side Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Radar Cruise)
Mirror Pack (Folding & Dipping Side Mirrors)
Exclusive Paint - Sepang Blue

Yeah it's very much a gadget thing for me TBH!

Hi all

Ordered mine beginning of December with build week 9 & delivery mid to end March. I've been trying very hard to not think about it, but I've been told it's left the factory now & I just can't hold it in any longer :yahoo: so spec is;

Sportback in monsoon grey
Leather/alcantara all black
Park system plus
B&O
Black style pack
Body colour folding mirrors
Comfort pack
Electric lumbar support
Extended mono pur
Inlays in 3D black
Interior light pack
LED headlights
Privacy glass
Technology pack
10 spoke alloys

Currently have a 56 plate 3 door A3 2.0tfsi s line se with a bunch of nice extras & an 11 plate A3 sb 1.4tfsi s line also with all the nice extras, both of which are going to be replaced by the S3 & a 1.4tfsi A1 sb s line, which we accidentally bought last weekend :whistle2:

I'll miss the 2.0l, at least until I put me foot down in the S3 :thrashi:

Update!!

Had a call from my dealer this afternoon to say that my order has been "lost" in the system and that my originally quoted build week of 11 is now not going to happen.

So I ordered 6 weeks ago, and they can't even give me a build week!!!!

PPP in my opinion Audi!

Jon.

I got the same story from Audi on Monday. Except they tried to blame me and say it was because of specification changes. No, you gave me my build date AFTER my last specification change was confirmed!!! :keule:

Further update!!

Went to dealership yesterday, now been told my S3 is build week 21, delivery mid to late June.

Therefore 2 months later than originally told.

Have been told however, that mine will be m/y 2015, anybody know what differences, if any, there will be to a 2014 model?

Those who are picking up today - enjoy!!!

Well after nearly 6 months she's here.. Just need a name. Reg no is PZA so thinking maybe Marge (Marghuerita), quattro fromagio, or Pepperoni... any ideas.

Superb handover from Bristol Audi... More pics when I get time ;-)
