Come on Warren change your order for an S3... I've had a couple of 5's recently and although great fun not as engaging as the 3s !
Got super excited today as saw a white A3 S line coming towards me and I was praying it would be the first white S3 I've seen on the road. It wasn't - however it was a Quattro ! Didn't know they put a badge in a grill for those.
I even tried keeping up with a white A3 on the M4 last week thinking it was an S3. I was certain it was until I saw the "TDI" badge and only two exhausts (it was at night, raining and very heavy spray). Sorry for those with a TDI but I was super disappointed after following it for 2 or 3 miles!

With 460+bhp it's hard to call (power to weight ratio wise), as to whether it will be as nimble....

I have plans for that but true it will never sound like a V8. V6 had much more tappable tuning potential though.

Have only ever seen 1 new S3 on the road since last October when I ordered mine. It was a glacier white 3dr with tints - looks great!
Yeh but. There are 2/3 A/s 5 models I love . rs5 , s5 v 8 and the stalwart 3.0tdi quattro which is frankly the best for torque economy and fun (ish) have had 50 k miles in one of these . 40 mpg and kept forgetting it burned oil . Some guy on a5oc ? Alexandro got 350bhp and 650 nm out of his !
I can confirm this, S5 is nowhere near as good to drive as a S3!
I think the S3 could be better set up for cornering, but it's a far better feel and inspires more confidence than the S5.
The S5 does look better though (as a coupe) and is a good quick motorway cruiser.

My missus had a diesel car once.... Didn't hit the spot at all even with remap, drove the 3.0TDi and it was good but didn't make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up; if I was using it as a long distance high mileage rep cruiser then maybe but they don't do the twin turbo option in the A5 yet. Petrol 3.0T is a vastly underrated engine, it's won Wards engine of the year 5 years on the bounce now, lots of tuning potential and Revo have just sorted a new DSG map for it which should perk it up. MRC have just achieved a 3.4s 0-60 with their car. With an Alu Kreuz stabilizer, rear ARB, and the sports diff I think it will be most of what I need. Drove it back to back with S3 SB 8V and yes the 8V was more pointy but after 7 years of S3 I wanted something a bit different and the S5 just clinched it on the day for me. Will probably be back for RS3 at some point.

quattro 5's are great long distance cruisers... nearly as good as the A7 BE I had for 7 months last year! The 7 would still be with us if I needed a 300 a day cruiser but will just have to make to with an S3 for now ;-0

Haven't felt like this since the 5 quattro coupe arrival in 2008 Kenny. Will you miss your A 6?
I wasn't that impressed by the B+O ! Maybe its cos I'm playing tunes from spottily via bluetooth. Think i might need to try a CD.

Pilot you are showing your age (and I'm older than you you ;-) ) try something like ministry if sound . Ibiza albums eg. Bromance , new car new life.
lol agree, I am 46 and whilst ill listen to almost anything my preference is vocal trance - cause I was there when the rave scene started and later went to all the big raves and my mates and I even setup some....cough cough legal ones officer

dare i say it im quite apprehensive....really going to mis the A6, its definately an amazing all rounder. But im sure the S3 will be good.
That is pretty much how I felt and feel ....
After a TT then a TTS from 2008 over a 5 year period I was ready for something different but also with usable rear seats and more refined for the motorway drives ......... the S5 fitted the bill perfectly.
Looking forward, I am pretty sure the RS3 could well be my next car.

When I kitted my place out with B&O...I went to the shop and the Eagles hotel California LIVE , on when he'll freezes over album was tested.....try it. josh Groban...... Barbra Strisand guilty....and of course Stair way to Heaven

I hope that's true for the B8 S4 as well as I am also a little aprehensive about the changeover on Saturday. Decided to 'downsize' to the S3 as I fancied a change.

I find the baseline on some of the new Dizzee Rascal tracks are pretty decent too and could be used for system testing.
Much as I'm looking forward to the B&O, my first choice of music will that made by the engine, probably set to repeat for several days.
