To be honest I didn't really check beyond colour, lights and seats and a few other obvious bits. Didn't even notice if the privacy glass was there!!! Kind of felt like I was sneaking a peek at someone else's car. Will have to compose myself for 1 March!
My fingers are crossed for you. Expected date like you and as per previous post was mid March so it's a right result. I do think the dealers are cautious with delivery dates. Cars earlier than expected and you love them, cars late and I could well imagine I would be a right pain in the ****. Call your dealer, at least you'll know either way and good luck
For those still wait for the new car to arrive in the UK, The AFRICAN HIGHWAY has left Emden bound for Grimsby. ETA Grimsby 18:30 on the 20th. Grimsby seems to be getting a ship load of cars every day at the moment.
Car booked for hand over on the 1st at 9am. Can't wait! Sold my golf back in November it's been a long winter of car sharing!

Yep, I sold our mini back at the end of now and have been driving round in our "summer" z4 since then - bumpy, cold, noisy, RWD etc etc. Just what you want in the middle of winter. Roll on 4WD and a tin roof!
Hang on that isn't a hardship! I have been driving my girlfriends Yaris!!! Compared to a z4......I'd swap ya! Nine days!!!!

I know, I was being a bit tongue in cheek. It's only the RWD bit that is a bit of a pain in the constant wet/floods.

Booked next Friday off work so I can get down to the West Country Thursday night and will spend Friday receiving 'stuff' I have ordered for my house to take my mind off things.

Wow that is cool. I really wish i was crossing the channel and going somewhere abroad, just can't justify the time out of work really.
Just had an email from the dealership to say my car has arrived!!! 
Just waiting for a call back to arrange when I can collect.
Probably keen to avoid the mayhem on the 1st and collect early in the following week.

Build week 6, car now at Grimsby but being brought down to Chiswick tomorrow! 9.30am pick up on 1st March booked = 9 more sleeps!
And another load of cars on it's way from Emden. This time bound for Grimsby aboard SCHELDE HIGHWAY. ETA Grimsby 20:00 21/2/14.

Did they sort your gearbox then?
When I ordered last sunday, my dealer told me there's a cancelled car with the same spec which is arriving for march. He said its already been built. But then he has emailed me saying its being built first week of march (build week 9/10). Would I receive my car by mid march?

My dealer just e-mailed me to say my car is still sat at Emden waiting to be shipped!!! Early March not looking likely for me :-(
well looks like i wont be collecting on the 1st, contacted dealer yesterday to get info and it's waiting to go on a boat now, been a long wait since October the 10th. especially when people who have ordered from Aberdeen as well after me are receiving their cars earlier!
There are others on here build week 7 who's cars are in the UK already and mine is sat in Emden like yours. I'm afraid there doesn't seem to be any sort of system for getting them on the boat in build order. I'm sure there are thousands sat there, and you either get lucky or like us you don't. Others on here have said their cars were at port for 2 weeks.
There are still ships leaving Emden for the three UK ports on a daily basic so don't give up just yet.
CITY OF SUNDERLAND delivered another load to Tyne yesterday. I may take awhile for the computer system to be updated.

I ordered on 27th October with Aberdeen. Initially BW10, which came into BW6, then I had the email saying it had entered production in BW5. It has just arrived at the dealership, so anything is possible. I imagine your car won't be far behind.
My collection is now booked for 3rd March
1st was fully booked for collections. 2nd was possible but I have work so am 3rd March it is. Still deciding whether to fork out for full professional detailing after collection to "set the car off on the right foot" so to speak
But it will be so hard picking the car up and soon after handing it over for a couple of days!

I am going to use the car for a couple of weeks and then it'll go to a specialist to get a polish and some sort of crystal coating.

Mods an idea Would it be possible to set Dave up with a sticky in the general section for his his 'helpful' shipping information as the OP is about March 1 collections and I very much doubt may on boats now will be with their new owners on 1 March.. My dealer is full up and diverting deliveries...

Just finished an email trail with my sales chap at Derby. I'm booked in for 8am sharp - car will be in showroom/handover bay and the FIRST in the queue to leave - good man.
Going over Monday morning to do all paperwork etc so should be good to go.
Never had a new car on the first day of the new registration... Closest I ever got was a new Fiat Seicento Sporting Arbarth (S reg) on the 20th August 1998. I felt like the dogs-doodahs in that. Yellow of course. I was 18.

Went to see my 1.4 Sport Saloon at the dealers today, thought the interior may be of interest it's Milano leather in grey.

Had an email this morning from dealer saying my car is on the ship and making its way to the Tyne as we speak.
Planet Ace is due in tonight at 2130 from Emden.... Guessing it's onboard that. Hope so anyway.
