Hi guys,

So I have noticed upon looking at my car (2006 A3 2.0 TDI SE), front on from a distance of at least 5 meters, I can see that the bottom of the front bumper looks uneven. I am not sure what has happened here? I have attached a picture for your observation.

I tried looking under and it seems that half of the frame (front passenger side) is scraped and pushed upwards into the car. How did this even happen? It doesn't seem to be a part of the front bumper but before that.

I only bought the car in December 2013 and I am unsure as to whether this problem was present from the start or not. I only noticed this a week ago. I had my radiator replaced at a local garage around a month ago but this can't be a result of that can it?

Would this be an easy/cheap fix?

On a side note, is it obvious to the trained eye that the quattro badge is fake? is it positioned correctly?

Thanks,
plasma

it looks as if you have caught the bumper on uneven ground or high kerb..

It may be the engine tray, ever been over a hump to fast? Or even high kerbs.

unscrew the engine tray and take it off, inspect for any other damage and look to see if the wheel arches are sitting in the right place by the front bumper. refit and see if there are any other issues

Thanks for all the help guys. During my lunch break, I quickly tried to look underneath the car and it looks like an issue with the front bumper, not the undertray. It just looks like the bottom of the front bumper was purposely cut that way from stock? I am not entirely sure, but I will get a pic posted up within the next day or so of what it looks like underneath. cheers, plasma

Looks like this here

Audi A3 2004-2008 Hatchback 3/5 Doors Front Bumper Primed Replacement Part | eBay

Maybe its had the front replaced on a budget? With that bumper being on ebay atm id say previous owner replaced it.

Yes it does seem to look like the same bumper! No, I am not the only owner, I am the second owner.

Jeezz I feel a little pi**ed off, I just had the front bumper resprayed! Had known this, I would have just bought a second hand original bumper!!

Any options left?

Appart from the bit hanging down it still looks OEM, if it annoys you that much then I guess you could try having a body shop trim the bit off thats over hanging?

Or just live with it as it still looks OK

If I am able to source a S line 8p front bumper, will it directly fit my 2006 SE? Note, I do not have fog lamps.

It will fit directly on, the grille will even fit too

The fog grilles for s line afaik are only supplied with fog light holes, but there may be a way around that?

I'm glad to hear that the s line front bumper/grille will directly fit onto my car, but would it depend on whether it's the pre-facelift or facelift version?

As for the fog lights, I can just leave them empty can't I? not too bothered with that. Just had a brief browse around for prices, looking at around £400! :S
