as posted by my mate on the OCD page on facebook! great day all round it has got me so motivated to get detailing once my exams are over. got a few cars lined up (including a fellow ASN members) for paint correction. hopefully get an advanced class in before then in order to further our skills even more! garage conversion is under way to get it looking tip top for cars coming in including new flooring, lighting etc.

"So... Yesterday me and Richard Steell attended Defined Details (Gordon's) machine polishing beginners class. This is my second time learning from Gordon, the first being as a one to one.

The class was excellent. The structure was perfect in my opinion if you had never even heard of a machine polisher you could go to that class and gain enough knowledge (assuming you concentrate and listen) to enhance your cars paintwork.

Why is it good to learn off Gordon? Well his style of detailing and method of teaching will benefit anybody! Even if you think you're a pro detailer or if you just enjoy maintaining your car I guarantee you that you will learn more than you already know here. The style he applies in his own work is portrayed through his teachings.

His knowledge of products is second to none. Literally any product you could think of he will be able to tell you his thoughts on it. People with this level of knowledge in any industry are few and far between.

I will finish by saying if another one of these classes come up and you want to learn, don't think about it just go for it. Gordon has forgot more than most will ever know so trust me it is a day you won't regret doing and to top it off it was a really enjoyable experience.

I for one will definitely be attending the advanced class should one come up.

Thanks again Gordon, thoroughly enjoyed my day and I feel confident enough to assess a cars paint and decide on products, pads and how far to take it."

I expressed my interest in the course as soon as it was released but due to remapping had to pull out. I will get over to him soon enough. No rush.

I've spent a bit of time with Gordon, he knows his stuff and is a really good guy... no bull**** with him and knows who is really making products, and who is changing a label and charging a fortune... ;)

one of the few "professionals" I would trust to polish my car, especially around the central belt! lol

definitely mate there are few detailers out there that are as professional as Gordon with the knowledge of products and the changes in technology and that shows in his work because he does get the best results from what I have seen. mimicking his values will get you great results on your own car. He truly is a wizard of the detailing world and that is recognised by his peers and enthusiasts alike.

there is just so much to learn. I am sure Gordon would be the first to admit that even he is still learning. the industry is constantly changing - in reply to manor13

Theres lots out there mate especially when it comes to waxes. Im not naming names as that just leads to a bun-fight and folk becoming keyboard warriors. It will always happen as there are only a handful of chemists in the UK that make their own products which are then relabelled and rebadged as someone elses and comes with a price rise too. Personally I think it should be made public knowledge as to what the product actually is. The funny thing about it is when arguments start as this product is better than that product but unbeknown to them is that both are the same just one has been rebranded.......lol
