I got a 2003 S3 and im looking to get an intercooler. Seen the forge one but not keen on the price , there must be other good makes /companies that do them for my car... been off here for a while so a bit out of touch and blinded by science
Any help info or ideas welcome

Thanks

Im sure there is an offer running at the moment for the wellycooler on the forum homepage.

Sorry mate, there was an ad earlier or yesterday, but cant seem to find that now either.

Have a look at the wellycooler info, plenty on here.

Is this the right sort of kit? http://bit.ly/UvRBVJ

Just wondering if that has the correct bends and number of pipes?

Anybody have any experience with this

No... wrong one entirely...

All the info is in the FMIC thread posted above dude... various members have documented their fitting and pipe work... its a bit of a read but worth it...

done my welly cooler with this;

welly cooler
2x 90 degree bend 76mm to 63mm reducers silicone
2x 90 degree bend in 63mm silicone
2x 90 degree alloy bend 63mm
2x straight alloy hose couplers 63mm
+clips

will need a 4 inch angle grinder and carbon discs to cut the alloy crash bar and read up on the bumper removal refit in the stickys.. a dremal with cutting discs would be hand too to cut the fog light surrounds.

NOTE I LOST MY FOGS TO HAVE SHINY PIPES!-)

like to add i cut my crash bar very snug and then just inserted a nut either end in the holes in the welly cooler and used heavy duty cable ties to hold it... it is actually really solid although most people less cowboy than i might spend a bit more time and make some brackets.

Ah Fabs V2 Cooler is 100% best option and best fit for me, Cooler was £380 and pipes to fit were about £60.

turbo outlet can be far to hot to touch and inlet will be frezzing, and after badger stage 2 this thing is awesome

Could have cut the crash bar a little less but was a little trial and error.

Very cool cooler.

Thats a nice install, bit more expensive than an E-bay solution but you get the maximum size intercooler into the space and maintaining the crash bar has got to be good. It holds the front of the car in some kind of alignment, connecting the rails and stiffening the front of the car.

Karl.

I designed this cooler to fit as easily as this and keep the car looking as OE as poss... a little trickier to pull off with a welly cooler but not impossible... that said the welly cooler does work well
