RIP Phllip Seymour Hoffman

My favourite film of his is a little know Todd Stolenz film called 'Happiness' in which he plays a sex pest! It was a very low budget film which was a two fingers up to the supposed American dream (e.g the real dysfunctions behind the polished teeth, mown lawns and god bless America speeches).

Shame for his family, and a shame that with all that wealth and friends in high places that people still don't get the help they so clearly need.

The average bod who clambers for 15 minutes of fame tends to overlook this side of the story, but then we all make our choices.

RIP indeed.

Fair dos, I asked for that. I just thought it was bit harsh. Seems the guy had been clean for twenty odd years, then lapsed.

yeah I know, I'm usually a bit harsh.... but I have zero time for drugs or the people that take them...

especially more when they are 'celebs' and/or have young families...

if the guy had died from a heart attack or been run over, I'm sure my view of him would be different... but he must have know. he was due to pick up his young kids and he's sitting their doing that sh**t... not on in my books.

and I'm sure he wasn't getting his stuff from nice guys, looking after people and having a ethical and morally sound business... if you get my drift... ;-)

Another sad waste of talent RIP

He was a very talented man. Another example of so many of the essential lessons and universal truths about life. We often believe that we would be happy if we only had more stuff, but this is another example of the reality that more stuff doesn't bring inner peace or happiness. I believe he had much more to give in the long run, but like so many people he couldn't shake that monkey on his back. I am afraid that he won't be last of what has become a constant stream of drug overdose deaths from Hollywood and the entertainment industry.
