Thank you for all your help/Suggestions/comments/replies to posts. Have finally placed an order with my dealer today for:-

A3 Sportback
S Line 2.0 TDI Quattro S Tronic
Daytona Grey
Adaptive headlights with Xenon Plus headlights
Aluminium roof rails
Audi Parking System Plus
Audi sound system
Comfort package
Cruise control
Deletion of model and technology designation at rear
Deselect sports suspension
Door mirrors – electrically adjustable, folding and heated
Electric lumbar support
Heated front seats
Hold assist
Interior lighting package
Perforated Alcantara/leather with S line embossing on the front seats
Privacy glass
Satellite Navigation system – SD card based
Through-load facility
Tyre pressure loss indicator

Managed to get 8.6% discount in the end - Not quite the 10% I was over optimistic for but never mind. Should get it on the road for early April, with £90 of electrical work thrown in for free after the price had been agreed. Could not make up my mind if to go Misano Red or the Daytona Grey, eventually opted for the latter. Hope I have made the right decision. Will have to live with it either way.

Very nice spec, Andy, but which grey have you actually ordered....Dakota or Daytona, 'cos you mention both in your thread?

Great spec! Curious as to what the electrical work is?

Its 12v supply for equipment. Will not be a ten minute job for the Tech...Don't want untidy wire from CIG lighter going up onto dash.

When I order my 8V I intend to run a 12v supply for my TomTom unit which I have located at the right-hand side of the windscreen. It means I can run the wire to the actual unit up through the door rubbers as I do on my 8P.

The 8P has the fuse box at the right-hand end of the dash but the 8V has it behind the glove box. It's a matter of making a connection to an appropriate fuse with a line-out adaptor and running a wire across the width of the dash. I seen an article on a GTI forum of how to do it. Looks quite straight forward.

Here is a link to the item: GolfGTIforum.co.uk - An independent forum for Volkswagen Golf GTI enthusiasts.

Is the one that comes as part of the Storage and Luggage pack located in the boot not enough?
No, would then have to get wire out of sight to dash at front.

Sorry that post was not meant to be sent. I replaced it with post #6 as soon as I realised you were talking about the dash area.

Not a prob, not mechanical or electrically minded, wire I will want to come out centre of the dash.

Nice.
In your earlier thread you seemed to have opted for Shiraz. What made you decide to downgrade to Daytona?

I certainly don't remember ever thinking about Shiraz, Did think about Misano Red, but discounted this for various reasons.

In your original thread of 2 weeks ago, post #22, you include Shiraz in the spec. Maybe just a copy/paste error?
