hey all, last year i bought some dare bbs lm reps, they have the polished lip and un-surprisingly after less than a year the lip is already showing signs of corrosion! not taking tha into account after buying them i started wishing i had bought some light weight 17inchers with good toyo proxes, ive been offered these comps... what you think?

Compomotive have gone bust so sourcing a spare to replace if damaged could be a problem.

surprising, thought most would say the usual... 17's handle better, lighter wheels means alot performance wise and that would save 2kg per wheel without what would be saved due to tyre size... be like lightening the flywheel in a way!

compomotive gone bust??? really, thought they supplyed lots of rally x cars ect??

they arnt bust heres a news feed from there website!-)

I would do anything too get a set of comps for my s3 had them on my escort and would love them on my s3 now!

cheers guys a bit of back up!-) just read 1kg of unsprung weight equals 10kg of sprung!!! so the comps are not the lightest but at 10.2 kg per wheel to 12.8 that the dares are... plus the 17inch tyres being 3.5 inch less circumference must another 0.2 kg??

should feel like a car 112kg lighter!-)

you are right jardo, never been a into snides lol... plus the blue and black matches ma interior so the missus is happy, colour co-ordinating an all. regretted not going pro race 1.2s as soon as i fitted em! then theres the reports of dare bbm's breaking... plus not seen another s3 wearing em.. we are both measuring our centre hole tomorrow then it should happen next sunder if he doesnt pull out!-)

Get the comps!! Look good and something a little different.
Plus the performance benefits

Stop making photo shops and swap the wheels already :p

lol... next sunday!-) driving down from Yorkshire tho so whether he changes his mind or not... 4hours each way! he needs to measure his centre bore aswell as they are on a scooby so prob 1mm too small if they havent got spigots in. i once ground off the 0.5mm lip on some legacy wheels to fit them to my mk1 vr6 though so not the end of the world.

MOs look weird in narrow widths though. Much like the Pro Race in my opinion, they look better when wider as the spokes are flat and inset. For example...

MO 6 are nice too...

No such thing as a 'good' nangkang... :)

<tuffty/>

i like a crap tyre, had r888's on an sti and that amount of grip was scary lol... the nangkangs screech when they are letting go, i find em quite progressive aswell. The r888's just tryed to murder me!-)
