Ok just got an a3 1.8t it's not what I was expecting doesn't feel like it should if that makes sense
im used to driving a diesel which was running at about 150 bhp obviously the derv had more torque but my a3 feels a little sluggish
it looks fairly standard vcds has been bringing up lambda sensors would this cause poor performance?

Hi, it affects consumption problem being unbalanced.
Drive it really hard then hook up the vcds again & see what it gives you.

The O2 sensors need replacing however I feel its better you first erase them drive the car then scan to see if they come back.

150bhp petrol will feel more 'flat' than a 150bhp diesel.

My old A4 1.8t felt like you were always waiting for it to get going compared to my golf GT TDI with the same power.

the n249 has been removed which ive heard is a common thing people do? i have cleared the codes and they come back every time! where is the 02 sensor ?

O2 sensors are located on the exhaust system & yes if those components were removed then a remap is necessary.

but yes jim i need a remap any advice on it ?

Yes remap for sure.

Plenty of remap info in the stickies, but my personal recommendation would be Revo if your leaving the rest of the car fairly stock or badger 5 if you get the modding bug.

Plenty of companies to choose from though, you pays your money and takes your choice!!

N249 can be bypassed vacuum wise, but not removed. If it's not electrically connected, that's why it's throwing a fault.

thats better
i think the n249 was a bit of a bodge
ive only just got the car so trying to resolve the issues before i start tuning

So u are the same person trying to get the hanging sockets right?

yep lol as said new to 1.8t and this car so need sorting out! will have the weekend to have a good look at it
