2013 Audi S3

I would NEVER, EVER buy a demo. I've been to an "Audi Sport" event where dealers use their S/RS stock and let people take them out for 30-40 mins near Oulton Park. They also had professional drivers taking the cars around the track. The cars were coming back and their brakes were smoking. I can vouch for the performance of the RS4/5/6. Epic. Even the Sales Manager for this particular dealership joked "oh we can't sell any of these cars now!" but what else would they do with all of their S/RS stock from 3 different dealerships??? Never, ever, in my life, would I buy one after this. Actually, it's just another reason NOT to deal with this company (as if I needed another!). I had a good day though, I just pity the people who buy the cars afterwards.

Unsure what to think about Audi discontinuing Estroil. I'll be gutted if they release an awesome new colour. But I guess it will be pretty damn exclusive now on the S3's which is good. Has anyone managed to get any touch up paint in Estroil for the inevitable stone chips? :(

This company might be worth a sniff? Just enter your details and choose how much you want.

I asked about a touch up pen the other day and they said not available as an exclusive colour - might ask the guy they use for small repairs etc as I know him if he can make a small amount and use an artists brush

Re service plans. I've had the complete package for the last few Audi's (and VW's beforehand). One I cancelled early with no problem (after 2 years).

The second was for my S4 which worked out quids in for me. I only do 8,000 mile per year and asked for time/distance service. So three services, brake fluid change, Aircon Service, two full sets of tyres and replacement front disks and pads and the first MOT all for £48 per month. Even the wipers and remote key batteries were included!

Not sure if the S3 is the same but with the S4 I had to change all four tyres the first time around because the difference in tread depth between front/rear would have been more than 4mm (VW finance insisted on this).

I will be taking the package for the new S3 - even if it costs a bit more over the 3yrs I see it as a good way to budget.

That's interesting... It sounds like its pretty borderline and will depend on how you drive the car... And let's face it with the S3 you gotta drive it!!

So what's the final word on this, Estoril dead? Audi better get their finger out and sort their website and notify people with orders.

Personally I think ALL white cars look a bit plain Jane. Popular at the moment but for how long?

I knew you or pilot audi would say something along those lines. !!

I like some black card but hate how they are hard to keep clean without a lot of attention, haven't got time personally
Had a black car in 2004. Hated how quick it was to get dirty where I live

Suits the s3 I think but makes aluminium mirrors almost indiscernible from silver paint.

Really suits black pack!

Not seen a SB tho yet.

White may be in now but was last in, in the early 70's now Im giving my age away.....

I think white is passing it, my current car is white and I bought that in 2007 just as it became popular.

Me personally I want something bright like java green OR sepang blue pearl

I do, but comes up lovely!

I just find that the blue golf I have now which is a little dark I have to keep on top of and black for me is worse. My dad had a black 6 series and it was constantly dirty. Did look nice tho when he got it polished but then sold it a few days later. Looked like new!
Personally I find I can't be bothered washing especially in this cold weather and I'm the one washing the car every weekend in the summer!

I'm getting the S3 treated with gtechniq crystal lacquer to give it a better chance of keeping clean by total detail international. I'm popping to see them next week.

Glacier for me, it will be kept nice and clean with my hEated jet wash
I think the demo had served a hard life and didnt really stand out that well....

Five Oaks Audi just outside Billingshurst in Sussex have a Java Green 8V Sportback in their showroom, certainly a brave colour choice

OI!! :nunu:

Yeah get a black sportback....if all else fails you can look like a herse!!

Oh and black only works on a car if it is kept in top notch condition - trust me I used to have a show and shine competition winning black car. Looked great but took a heel of a lot of care to keep it that way (I'd say 6-8 hours a week on average).

I see many blacks, grey and white ones. I chose Misano red... Looks bit more aggressive tbh

I'd have red if I had choice again, with the grey wheels really looks the part!

Ah the perennial, "that colour's rubbish and won't stay clean" and "my colour is better than your colour" audi-sport chain of posts...I thought I'd missed some important news when I saw so many unread posts, but alas no ;)

Guys, need your help here, my dealership told my humming issue is due to the s3's tread design.

Could the s3 owners confirm that you're not experiencing any kind of humming (something like HUMMM hummm HUMMM hummm) noise around 50 mph and above? I would then print it out and shove it up their.... I'm really upset.

I feel like complaining officially to audi Germany and I'll certainly mention it during my audi phone survey that I'll be getting soon.

what oil are people using for top up please ?

Usual Castrol Edge I assume, I have loads!

Colour looks lovely Louay.. Not sure about the dead Hydrangea, that looks to have Panther Black tones ;-0

As an aside Audimad will agree another Audi Forum have been having some amusing debates on DIY Driveway projects...very amusing!!

A strange question maybe...anyone with an S3 taken the traction control off for some sporty driving? If so any difference made? Does it switch completely off?

Audi gave me some shell helix stuff as I complained the usual top up bottle they put in the boot was missing, I'm sure they just sent someone to the petrol station for the cheapest litre they could get then posted me it! The wonderful huddersfield Audi for you!

On older roads the tyres are pretty noisy.
Newly or recently laid Tarmac is relatively quiet.
